Good summary.

You never know though. I remember this time last season in the aftermath of Liverpool's CL win I was thinking Bayern Munich were done. Ribery and Robben had gone and they had an ageing squad. 12 months later they are champions. When Guardiola came to City we had just finished 4th and got 66 points. We spent a lot of money, had one transitional season, and then won the league. It can be done quick.

Do you think it is possible to rebuild with Messi in the side? To be honest I have some sympathy with the position of selling Messi and rebuilding as I think having a player who is so central to the team hampers the development of plaayers like Griezmann

There's a big difference to how Bayern was to the Barcelona of now. They didn't have a ton of debt.... and they were building a young side. They never got destroyed 8-2.... and they certainly didn't throw a 3 goal lead twice in the Champions League. Our decline has been falling for years. All Bayern needed last season was 1 or 2 players and a good coach. They have that now. Barcelona is so far behind that. We have no money to rebuild. We don't have a young side. We don't have a coach to get us to the top level. And our squad simply isn't good enough..... 1 or 2 players won't be enough.

Why should Messi waste his final years playing in a struggling and a building Barcelona? He may as well play for a midtable team if he wants to struggle. And we won't be able to rebuild properly whilst Messi is here. We simply do not have the money to have a squad to compete at the highest level. It's going to take years for the new board to sort this mess out.

I’ve had the song ‘Mambo number 5’running through my head for the past 3 days.
Fuck off Messi, you’re not worth this torture..
A little bit of Rodri in my life
A little bit of Foden by my side
A little bit of Kev is all I need
A little bit of Kun is what I see
A little bit of Ederson in the sun
A little bit of Bernie all night long
A little bit of Laporte here I am
A little bit of Leo makes me your man

City's No. 10!

The fact city & messi are silent is a very positive situation. I can only imagine city & messi’s legal teams are very busy. Barcelona will delay till the last minute & will want at least 2 city players plus ££. Going to the last hours of the transfer day this one.

My god I’m missing city & going to the game’s so much. I hope I get to take my old man to watch messi play for city

It can all change very quickly, that’s why you should enjoy every trophy like it’s the last, we know this more than most. Never take success for granted.

I have genuinely been resisting the urge to post something like this for a week now and you swoop in and do it better than what I had in mind.

*Bastarda.

You don’t lose your ability, you lose your legs.
Don't think so. Neurophysiological and musculoskeletal decay is strongly age related i.e. general physical performance declines, and your brain too. Physiological function, reflexes, muscle contraction and control, in football terms 'control', and 'skill' are all functions of the central nervous system.

He’s 33 not 63...
