Liverpool (a) post-match thread

9 points is not an insurmountable figure but over the next 8 weeks, that number must start coming down and not be going in the other direction. By the time we get into the new year, we really need to have chipped 3 or 4 points off their lead. If we can do that, I am confident we can knock off a 5 or 6 point deficit in the last 15 games.
We will exact revenge v. Them full strength at the Etihad.

The two key players missing were Laporte and Sane. Laporte gives us stability while Sane seems to be a dipper specialist. Sane consistently rips them apart with his pace and he seems to be the only one in the team willing to take his defender on.

People saying we badly miss Sane, however he was never regular starter anyway.

Laporte is a bad miss as it means we also miss Fern in midfield.

That team was more than capable of winning yesterday it's just they all need 10 chances to score 1 goal which just isn't good enough.

Let's see where we all are after Liverpool have gone to Leicester over Christmas.

If we are within six, it's essentially a win again for us at the Etihad and those rat bastards picking up a couple of draws elsewhere.

As I say, we have some difficult fixtures to overcome in these next few weeks, if we come through them, we stand a very good chance again.

If we play like we did for 75 mins then I don't think we'll beat Chelsea.

Fuck, just been able to catch up on Pep's post match interview. First time I've so much as smiled since final whistle last night. I rolled around! The art of stonewalling, Pep. Or, how to take the piss out of a journalist who wants something from you that you don't have the slightest intention of giving. Those final few seconds, the question about the ref, and that grin on Pep's face! Just gold…

expected result, given our injuries...thought we played ok..should of had 2 more goals.....Garcia could have made a difference...Napoli will release KK...should seriously consider him in January

Compared to Sterling, Sane has at least consistently performed well against the dippers. We certainly miss him as he adds something which other players don’t poses in the team, pace and the ability to beat his opponent.

This is going to sound harsh but there are too many cowards in this team who don't want to fight when the going gets tough.

Stones, Walker, Gundogan are the worst culprits. We need players with more tenacity and heart who leave it all out there on the pitch.

Walker who collects the ball and drives forward when we are losing? Forgotten about our game vs Soton where he took the initiative?
