In which game this season do you think that Pep will take an attacker out of the team, given he would play 11 midfielders if he could?

The answer is absolutely none as he uses Cancelo as a quasi midfielder and that creates a 3-4-3 of sorts already. He’d never add another central defender now. He’d drop Rodri deeper if needed before doing that.

Didn’t say he’d do it but with the right players you can get an extra midfielder in. Suppose you could argue he used it to turn the Palace game around. I’m pretty much of the opinion if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

My point is it’s a system that can work well if you have the players to suit it. If Sven wasn’t such a dinosaur England might have got somewhere when we had 3/4 world class centre halves and 3 world class midfielders. Instead he played divs like Sinclair and Mills at the expense of a top class player or 2 because they fitted the 442 system at the time.

You don't change to a system that nobody is used to and has never worked before at Anfield away, especially when you have a system that every team in the whole club has played and has dominated English football for many years.

I think he played against Ibrahimović a while ago and had him sown up all the game. Not a direct comparison to Haaland, but still a world class type of centre forward.

Struggling to pick a team for this one. I think we’d do well to try get all of kdb, silva, gundogan in there but don’t see how unless we put Bernardo at rw and leave foden on the left.

Haaland is going to destroy them if we can feed him.

I’m not too worried about the backline, if we get the middle right we should be fine.

Never been as confident going there in 35 years of being a blue. Don’t let the midweek results/performances fool you either, they are there for the taking. I expect them to put up a fight, we are their biggest game despite what they say, (it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a baying mob of scallies waiting for a rag team arriving) and this is their last roll of the dice for a title shot. Personally I would stick Ake on Salah with Bernie in front for extra protection and let Jack go one on one with Gomez, I’d have Joao coming down the right linking with Kev & Phil. I can also see VD & Konate being obsessed with Haaland & leaving gaps everywhere, another 1-4 to City

Yeah it's basically a choice between Grealish and Gundogan. Both offer big plusses.
