Think this shit RAG deserves it's own thread. After the Neverton propaganda we have the latest "opinions". Graham Agg's are so fucking cringe worthy only the plastic Dippers would lap it up!

Liverpool FC the Jury: It is good versus evil at Wembley - but if Reds can replicate Etihad there's just one winner

GRAHAM AGG (Netherton)
It is a massive Capital One Cup final on Sunday at Wembley, Liverpool attempt to win the League Cup for a record ninth time against the richest club in Europe - Manchester City. I believe the only way that LFC will not win on Sunday will be if their attitude and commitment is not 100%.

It is already a foregone conclusion that Liverpool will win the off-field battle with the LFC support famous for the their fans and banners. It is a match for the football purists to delight over as the traditional working class club Liverpool, with a world famous support and their history and tradition built on footballing success, face City.

City is a club artificially built with vast sums of money from Middle East businessmen, which has attracted footballing mercenaries from all parts of the world to a club that was unheard of outside of this country. Basically it is a clash of all that is good in football against all that is bad, a David versus Goliath scenario with the vast worldwide footballing public favouring and supporting the underdog.

For inspiration at Wembley the Liverpool players only need to think back three months to November 21 and the 4-1 pulverisation of City on their own turf at the Etihad. Make no mistake Liverpool are not playing a Barcelona clone or even a top European club like Bayern Munich, but a club that has struggled all season to maintain their position in the top four of the Premier League despite spending untold millions, a club that has lost three of their last four matches in all competitions, and has only won five away matches all season in the Premier League.

There is absolutely no reason for Liverpool to have an inferiority complex going in to this match. The wheels have certainly fallen off the Manchester City bandwagon since Pelligrini announced his departure at the end of the season.

I believe with Jurgen Klopp's motivational skills and with the 4-1 result from the Etihad still in the players' minds, if the Liverpool that has already demolished Chelsea and Manchester City this season turn up on Sunday, then there will be only one winner.

For the neutral, Liverpool v Man City provides a fascinating prospect at Wembley, as a meeting of the two most inconsistent teams in the Premier League. City were title favourites until those damaging home defeats to Tottenham and Leicester, as well as a number of surprise reversals earlier in the season.

At the same time, the Reds have swung between big wins at Chelsea, Southampton and Villa - not to mention City themselves - and heavy defeats against West Ham (twice in the league) and Watford. The most significant aspect of this fixture is not so much who plays, but who turns up on the day.

Unfortunately, City will go into the game on the back of a morale boosting win in the Champions League, whilst Liverpool struggled to see off Augsburg, despite the advantage of an early penalty. City now have all their key players back to fitness, which means we will have to deal with the threat of Aguero, Silva and the rest, and without both first choice centre backs.

That could mean that Kloppo will opt for the added defensive player in Lucas, maybe at the expense of Emre Can. When he arrived, Can looked very much the answer to our need for a dominant midfield general, but his performances this season seem to have been going backwards.

Jordan Henderson’s performance could be a major factor. He’s been well below his best since coming back from injury, and it seems likely he is still suffering from the after effects. If we don’t get a firm grip on midfield and provide the service to the front three, City will make us pay.

This season we’ve alternated between struggling to score and hitting six. Let’s hope on Sunday it’s our turn to score six – although on this occasion I’d happily settle for 1-0.

Four years ago when Kenny Dalglish lifted the League Cup he said that it was only the start for us in terms of winning trophies. In reality, it was the beginning of the end for Dalglish as he was harshly sacked - and we have won nothing since.

Hopefully a victory on Sunday will truly be the start of us winning trophies again under Jurgen Klopp. A win could really ignite the Klopp era and it could also cure the long hangover which the team seems to have been suffering from since missing out on the league title in 2014.

On Sunday, we need a fast start and we need our top players to perform to have any chance of winning as Manchester City start as favourites in my opinion.

Last time we won the cup we beat Stoke and City on the way so hopefully history will be repeated. Come on Reds!

it appears the stupid dipper c*nt , doesnt know his history , we won the ECWC (equivalent to europa league) in 1970 , the dippers won their 1st european trophy quite a few years later , and we didnt murder 40 odd Italians on the way.
