Liverpool (H) - Carabao Cup 4th Round - Post-Match Thread

It's nice to beat the Scousers for a change, but we could easily have lost that game if Nunez had his shooting boots on. We were still vulnerable from breakaways, despite being by far the best team. Kev was on fire, but our defence looked dodgy at times.

Just seen Klipperty moaning about VAR and how our first goal may have been offside. Conveniently forgetting that two of their misses came from two blatantly offsides not given. Both from their unique hoof ball tactics. We do need Walker back as soon as possible but also a centre held with real speed.
Actually he was talking about the early chance for Palmer which wasn't scored. Apparently that would have messed with his players heads, quite how that works I'm not sure.

We never have an extra defender that’s why we concede so many counter attacking goals.
I often think that being bit more defensive to start games against better teams that we would do better overall. A double pivot in the centre gradually morphing to a single pivot and box to box mid as the opposition tires would reduce defeats and draws against the better opponents.
