Liverpool (H) | Post-Match Thread

Still buzzing about this win!

The three points were vital, but it was the manner of the win that has our fans drooling. Our performance was THAT good! :-)

From back to front, from minute one to minute 94 we were simply brilliant! I hope the boys get a good rest, because hopefully it'll be the last week off if we remain in all competitions.

It's a good time to be a Blue!

Alvarez for 14 million aint bad value for money either
Considering his age, Alvarez was probably the best value for money signing. What a performance yesterday! I was right not to be too worried about the Viking not making the squad.

Check out the role Alvarez played in Gundog's goal. Julian started, conducted & nearly ended the move which Gundog scored on the rebound.

The UK press were talking up a mega-money Chelsea bid for him in the summer. I think it's bollocks, but if there's any truth to it, they can fuck right off! :-)

Alvarez was simply awesome yesterday & the Scousers didn't have a clue how to deal with him. The Dippers had trained for Haaland & couldn't adjust when faced with the harder working & more elusive Alvarez.

Julian completely fucked them up! A potential superstar in the making! :-)

really enjoyed that, i do like a lunchtime kick off that ends so well.

Despite City being the better team with more chances in the 1st half, there was a nasty air of the counter attack throughout , as shown by the Salah goal and by Grealish's last ditch tackle. Rodri got a little caught up in the press, Liverpool did quite well against him in the first half, that was probably their only positive.

2nd half City came out a bit tweaked and blew them away, it was extremely one sided and wonderful to watch. i'll echo another poster by saying that Akanji did have a hard job to do in that game, but still looks all a bit scared of what's going on. Anyway, he's learning a lot. Everyone else was brilliant, really.

Liverpool were toss. Trent was toss. Fabinho was toss. I dont even know what Gakpo is and Klopp looks tired.

my Rodri 'red' card thought: maybe, in isolation, Rodri's 2nd 'pull' may have sometimes got a yellow and sometimes not, and in this case we had a ref that decided it didn't warrant one. Maybe he was lucky, maybe it was the right decision, but I am now fairly certain the 2nd yellow wasnt given due to Liverpool surrounding the ref. Given the new FA push on this, Hooper could not be seen to be capitulating to a 2nd yellow while being hounded, he just couldnt. I really believe Liverpool may have gotten their desired red card if they hadnt acted like twats.
Would have been given at anfield 100% imo

We should turn it on its head and be passive aggressive and sing:

"It's always our fault
It's always our fault
Never the victims
It's always our fault"

Maybe the dickheads who run our PR dept might get the message on how we feel about this.
I like it.

Self deprecating but with a clear message

When do do we start....Soton ?

Ah but he is on “massive wages” and his agent also got a huge bung off the books, according to scouse twitter…

Short memories, remember the Milner one from a few games ago. Ref actually called Henderson over to tell him, to tell him, to stop it. It looked like Rodri just ran into the back of Gakpo but he has learnt from a master (Fern) so who knows?

It felt like we had reverted to playing without a striker again today. A great option to have. Alvarez's performance today should not be overlooked!
We are so much easier on the eye with a false 9 and it is entertainment after all. I hope Haaland keeps scoring of course and smashes all records when he plays - then when the time comes and Real have £200 million = good business. I have a feeling Pep prefers setting up a team with interchangeable players going forward, he sort of doesn't hide it much - i am sure when it all comes out there was a heated debate re getting Haaland in. Don't get me wrong, much improved last few games as he is putting himself about a bit to create something for others. When teams drop deep and man mark him he HAS to do this - starting to do it for us now whch s great. We are so much better to watch with false 9 though.
