It will be a lot less of a problem with Walker, Dias, LaPorte and Ake clearing up, though.

Mendy or Zinchenko would be a major problem.

Mendy's played 3 games against Liverpool and we've not conceded a goal in any of them. He's handled Salah perfectly both times.

It's a shame he's not available.

Finally someone has done his homework.

As for the match, I think Liverpool are stronger than we like to believe. And we still don’t play our best football by far.
Even in the latest 4-0 win they had the best of chances.

IMHO it’s pretty even stuff. But any naïeve stuff like Atalanta or the slow build up play we seem to use a lot lately and is easy to defend, and we will get nowt from this one.

Genuinely this is the first game that I've had any pre-match excitement about since feb/march.

We NEED not to lose, but we're so capable of winning this, and winning it by a fair margin.
I just hope we show up 'cause I fcuking hate City damp squib let downs. Hate VAR controversy more though.

It'd just be nice to come away from ONE big league match against this lot (and spurs for that matter) without feeling cheated, swindled and confused.

Anyway,
So many valid options and alternatives, just hope Pep doesn't overthink it too much, but it's a fine line, sometimes his "WTF" formations are magical on the eye and some of them are just "WTF". Whatever the formation, just hope we get to play OUR game and please, please, PLEASE can we NOT get hit on the break and concede the first goal after about 13minutes.

MY TEAM -

--------------------------------------------------------Gundogan--------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------DeBruyne-------------------------Foden/Bernard--------------------------------

(I have NO way of deciding between Foden or Bernard, can't do it :) took me long enough to finally give Gundogan "the nod" over Rodri)

The difference between us now and last season is the centre back pairing and Kyle Walker being on fire, the only threat we have is the cheating and VAR.

If this game is close their front men will be acting like there are snipers in the stands and their enamel faced manager will give them license to do it.

Feel like you have to go on a media black out before these games as its all incredibly pro liverpool.
Number of articles about jota or firmino is embarrassing.

Theyre doing well but we’re doing shit is the common narrative.

We win this game and we can go above them when we’ve played the same number of games.
We lose this game and i’m certain liverpool will lose several more so is not ideal but also not a problem.

This is not a title decider!

Had a bad start apparently (hasn't every team?). Win 2 - 1 and it'll burst their defending the title bubble.

This game is “must not lose” for both teams and given their problems in defence they would happily take a point and try to hit us on the counter.

We haven’t been at our attacking best at any point this season but the defence has looked as good as it’s done for a while.

I can’t see a lot of goals in this one.

My worry is that they appear to be far more clinical than us and in a game of few big chances it could be the difference.

With that in mind, and the fact I know fuck all, I’m going 6-0 to city

Out for Liverpool

Fabinho
VVD
Chamberlain

Out for City

Fernandinho
Mendy
Aguero

There's a certain symmetry in that. I think we will both miss the DMs equally. They will miss VVD more than we will Mendy. We will miss Aguero more than they will Chamberlain.

If Foden plays, it has to be on a wing. Preferably the left one to get Sterling on the right.

I'd be playing Bernardo in the middle but not sure Pep will.

Jesus up top to be replaced by Torres after an hour.

Think we'll see Walker in a back 3 with Cancelo as a wing back. God knows what we do with the left side

Walker is in the form of his life and has been bombing forward for fun recently I can’t see him tucking in to a back 3 but god knows what pep has up his sleeve

I just listened to the big midweek podcasts and its incredible, they don't think we have a chance. The guardian think our players would have been watching pochettino on sky and wishing we had him. Apparently its impossible to see Liverpool drop many points this season despite losing 7-1 to villa 2 weeks ago...

Bizarre comments all round. We need to win this one and remind them who they are talking about.

Ederson

walker
Dias
Laporte
Cancelo

Rodri
Gundigan
KDB

Sterling
Jesus
Foden

think that gives us more than enough on the left and right to keep their full backs penned back.

I can’t see anything but that 3 in the middle starting. The only question is who is playing at LB and the front 3

Struggle to take too much from that game as it meant fuck all to them after absolutely pissing the league. Plus they missed about 3 sitters before we scored in what was a very strange game. Expecting a tight game this weekend
