Be nice if a few realised we now have a number 9 too, strong foundations take time to cure.
It’ll be fine, it’s not automatic yet. Been a few years since our players have played with a fully fit top drawer striker, you could see there were times today where they realised they should have played the ball early.

Few observations from today.
1. If the vermin boo the national anthem because they aren’t English and think the Thatcher government left them to rot, can they all stop taking the benefits the UK system provides. Can they also learn that without Tory donors they wouldn’t have a club
2. This game obviously means more to them than us judging by the fact they were celebrating as if they had just won the league, scored a 100 goals and won 100 points
3. We aren’t yet match fit and treated the game as such
4. What is the point of Henderson who by the way sang the anthem so will he now be a victim of the cult
5. Haaland will be a beast, he is only 60% match fit at best
6. Cancelo is not a left back
7. We played the better football
8. Vermin are just a modern day Stoke
9. By the LOTG it was never a penalty and more concerning was that Pawson was persuaded to view the monitor but didn’t have the bottle to say no penalty
10. Trust in Pep

City seemingly deliberately have a lighter pre-season than most so that we finish strongly.

Why are people calling for more games?! Pep prefers a smaller squad and isn't exactly a fan of subs - making them play more games isn't a great shout.

False 9 or not pep will always want the stiker to drop and participate in link up play. Maybe we can have a few crosses and long balls here and there but Haaland has to adapt to this i am afraid. I think he will as did kun
Him dropping deeper to link play has nothing to do with what he needs to thrive...He's the most lethal finisher in football and the idea that its better for him to adapt to our running down dead ends approach to the false 9 system is laughable...more so when you realize we originally adapted this way ONLY because we didn't have a pure striker. Yes, we may well still win things this way but it will be to the detriment of haaland imo.

I'll die on this hill too.

Second and a cup run is realistic this season -:)

Overall the game was not great from a city perspective. Slower all over the pitch. Passing was off and the big fella couldn’t get going. We will need to relearn how to link up with a number 9. The wide players in particular caused us to turnover the ball a lot which led to counter after counter.

Once this new death star becomes operational we will be blowing teams apart.

I would rather a match like this than an easy win. It shows we are not perfect and the players need to work on the transitional attacking phases of play. We all need to be realistic and patient to allow the new players to settle. City are a possession team and when we don’t or can’t control the ball we suffer.

Liverpool were Liverpool nothing new. They came out of the blocks quickly and unfortunately on this occasion we did not contain them for the 20 min needed each half.

The better team won today. Game on.

Oh, Alvarez looks a great piece of business.
Just in case you don’t know it’s a glorified friendly, do we want to win it? Yes! But is has no bearing on the season.
Relax and trust.

False 9 has nothing to do with it and I don't know why you keep bringing false 9 to it. Pep Never likes strikers who stay in the box waiting for the ball or only run at break. His first season he made kun change his game. Kun had to drop deep and do link up play. Haaland will also have to adapt that style.

I thought we edged it despite being off it. Their penalty wasn’t (wolves one we got last season was similar and everyone said it was a travesty it was given but it’s Liverpool so now it is) and ours should have been given.

Bernardo got tired towards end and de bruyne felt a little sluggish.

I thought haaland looked sharp. When those behind get up to fitness then he will be getting even more chances.
Really?
I thought Haaland had a shocker
