Kick off time 17:00 (BST) at the King Power Stadium.

Live on ITV1 for those in the UK, coverage starts at 16:15. Ian Wright, Roy Keane and Karen Carney in the studio. Matterface and Dixon on comms.

Feels about right to have our first pre-match thread of the season for this one.

I expect it'll be treated as a warm up game by Klopp and Guardiola but with the strong teams out there.

Always nice to start the season by beating this lot.

Pre-season so far:
City
Liverpool
Club America - Won 2-1
United - Lost 4-0
Bayern Munich - Won 1-0
Crystal Palce - Won 2-0
RB Leipzig - Won 5-0

Recent Community Shield outings:
2018 - City 2-0 Chelsea
2019 - City (5)1-1(4) Liverpool
2020 - Arsenal (5)1-1(4) Liverpool
2021 - Leicester 1-0 City

-------------Ederson
Walker---Dias---Ake---Cancelo
--------------Rodri
-----Bernardo----De Bruyne
Mahrez-----Alvarez----Grealish

Think he might rest Haaland for the start of this one.

I'm convinced Haaland won't play more than maybe 10 minutes of this match. Pep won't want to give Klopp anything useful to work with before the first league meeting. Alvarez probably the only new signing to start, the lads who were with the eds have to start.

I wouldn't play Haaland at all in this friendly. He'd be targeted by the likes of Robertson and I remember what happened to Sane.

After Pep post match, I wouldn't be shocked to see Haaland not start this game or possibly WHU, as he eases him into our ways and fitness.

Can see him giving both strikers equal time on the pitch in first few weeks, but Alvarez starting this Saturday

But as alway good management, lowering expecrations to ease pressure, as everyone is getting giddy Haaland is gonna be banging in goal after goal each game and Pep knows our media are twats and will be on him if he doesn't.

Wouldnt play Haaland, KDB and Dias at all due to Lpool dog face players like Robertson and Arnold , the ones who gonna target our players on purpouse

I think he’ll play the team that he’s planning on starting at West Ham.

Ederson
Walker
Dias
Ake
Cancelo
Rodri
Bernardo
De Bruyne
Grealish
Mahrez
Haaland
I think this but with Ortega as our 'cup' goalie.

Minutes then for Foden, Stones, Gundogan and Alvarez.

I would have thought so too 100%, we've had a short pre season the first team needs game time what better than to put last seasons rivals away.
