Trying to talk reasonably about football with a Liverpool supporter these days is like trying to claim the non-existence of Jesus Christ to a member of a religious cult. It is actually quite unnerving because its like they're brain-washed - they believe all the delusions and do so with such intensity you instinctively shrink away and question their sanity.
They genuinely think they are somehow different and special.
They genuinely think there is a Liverpool 'family' and they do things the right way.

These are delusions that bolstered them as they had to endure losing their dominance to a hated rival. These were delusions that acted as solace to them.

And for years they fizzed around internally amongst themselves. "Okay we're not winning anything anymore but we're Liverpool. We're special. Lets write another sentimental poem about the Kop"

But since their revival all this passionate bulllshit is now aimed outwards. At anyone unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of one of their pious, condescending, fictional, self-mytholizing sermons.

I can honestly say - without fear of exageration - that I loathe the fuckers ten times more than I do United. They sincerely make my skin crawl.
