They're supposedly planning to buy Berahino for £23.5m. They never learn do they?

They are signing another striker with an attitude problem?

The signing cannot even be justified from a moneyball perspective.

I swear their scouting system has just given up and is now using Football Manager or something.

The lad is a walking "overrated Englishman" cliche

OMFG, the sources are dubious at this point but then given our track record this is very worrying. Berahino is flavor of the month and he's not better than Balotelli or Origi. is he significantly better than Ings and Austin even? Point is you need more than 15 games to decide to go big on a player.

In January we need to go in for a proper forward (not a winger) and goalkeeper (not John fucking Ruddy), pay the asking price or a price that will be clearly more than what other potential suitors are willing to pay and wrap up the deal. That's it. No haggling. Either that or don't bother. No buying players at the same level of what is already here that'd be impossibly insane and inept.

You've finally smelled the coffee, Superseiyan. But what do you expect with a latter-day Alan Ball as your manager?

Re: The Red Lion Pub Team (Liverpool) Thread 2014/15

Was talk of berahino going for about 11m so I presumed the 23.5m deal was wages included - maybe it's not just city they do it with!

Good player, at 11m I would have him.

Played well today. They've looked much more dominant in midfield with a certain geriatric missing...

The title must surely be a 2 horse race now, who do you think will win it,Liverpool or the rags?

Stadium announcer probably felt a bit safer too.

Miles better team without Gerrard.

There was a time when I thought only Zidane and Kaka were better midfielders than Gerrard in the world. He was a really special player from around 2002-2005.

That's a long time ago now.

If he gets straight back in the team for their next game it would be a real shame for the players that played tonight.

Adam Lallana is now the best player at that club.
