As they say, they are Scouse, and not English, so our English laws don't apply to them, in the Liverpool enclave.

Well a BBC report said the man with the hammer wasn't a Roma fan but didn't say he was a Liverpool fan, must be Chelsea again!

That photo pretty much looks how I would look if I was walking down the road with a claw hammer in my hand. And the one thing I notice when I go to Rome is that I stand out like a sore thumb as looking like a scruffy ****. You just don't tend to see Italians dressing like that and especially not like the even scruffier **** next to him. Whereas when you go to Liverpool being a scruffy **** is pretty much a fashion statement. But I don't suppose that is definitive proof by any stretch.

Correct.

As a rule Italian fans and Ultras dress very smart. It's a cultural thing.

Saying that, Roma fans clashed with United fans in town and outside OT.

They probably would have done with us, if GMP wouldn't have marched them to the Etihad.

Did we have any problems with them in Rome? Can't remember.

GMP spot and track groups of opposition Ultras and known local yob firns on match day. Merkyside plod clearly do feck-all judging by their record on coach bricking and Stanley Smiles.

Personally I didn’t see no mither over there and we was in the city centre till dark.Ended up in a bar not far from the pick up point and then got bussed in..Didnt much fancy the couple of mile walk to the ground. If you know what I mean.

What I wouldn't give for a 3-0 Roma win..... wishful thinking.

Thinking about the decisions that have gone for them in this competition to date (against us and then again last night) I'm beginning to fear the worst and think their name could be on it this year

Praying I am wrong.

Should try doing the 2 mile walk away from the ground when Lazio have just hammered them in their home derby and there's a running battle going on with everyone tooled up. Felt like there was a sheet of ice on my spine.

I have a reasonable size bet on as compensation. I put 40 quid on Liverpool to knock us out. Cashed out after the first leg then lumped some of the winnings on united to beat us and then lumped the lot on Liverpool to win the CL before the second leg. Stand to win around 750 if they do win which will more or less cover mine and my son's season tickets in SS3. Although, let's be clear, I would be much happier to not win that money.

I don't know, that's some dilemma .......as much as it would piss me off having my season tickets paid for is not to be sniffed at!

that lad with the hammer ,he's walking towards the roma fans after they had retreated,so I would say with 99.5% certainty he was a scouser, and as somebody has already mentioned he was or looked like a scruffy ****.

Nah, there's always scuffles but that was preplanned by the Roma fans, they only pull something like that every couple of months. Definitely motivated by the scousers making a target of themselves.

Didn't the Roma fan's pull off a similar stunt outside Mary D's where a young fan with his dad was hit with an object on his head and in a serious condition?

Yep, they did. Thought that was opportunistic at the time though.

Or was that Napoli?

Chris bascombe in the telegraph... won't link.

Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp is one of the greatest tacticians in modern football – and more than equal to Pep Guardiola

Hahahaha
