I follow a bet tipping site called Mr Fix It and one poster said Raheem was worth a shout for POTY based on his performances and off field work with racism etc, guess the supporter of the following comment tomthat thread:

Yeah he’s doing it to promote himself and nothing else,a bit like Mata donating 1 percent of his wages to charity, but then claims it all back in tax allowances, this is why they do it save money and make themselves look good in the process. He’s spoken well about Racism, but that has been about for years it’s not just suddenly appeared,i don’t condone Racism one bit but he’s playing the card,John Barnes was subject to a lot more than he has been subject to but like a true professional Barnes got on with it.

Accountable for nothing and offended by everything

I think Raheem does a fucking great job of ‘making himself look good’ by winning trophies and being a pretty sensational footballer.

And Barnes was a ‘true professional’ by ‘just getting on with’ being racially abused.

That statement is racist as fuck.

Their schedule is pretty great. Played soton on a Friday leaving a nice break to Tuesday and now Chelsea Sunday and Chelsea of course play Thursday. Then it’s Wednesday again followed by a Sunday game.
They seem to be getting a nice 5 day cushion between games. Not too little and not too much. Scheduling really has been kind to them even without cup games.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I think virtually all clubs would love to be able to cook the books and that I dare say most of the major clubs have at one time or another floated ideas that may not have broken any rules but gone against the spirit of the game.

Abu Dhabi, Paris St.Qatar and others (I'm thinking a lot of the Chinese investors may get more leeway from the Chinese government but accept I might be wrong) get away with what they do because they face absolutely no repercussions for their actions. If we tried what they have (allegedly..ahem) done then it's not just LFC that it seriously effects. It then goes through FSG and into other businesses owned by them. If Spurs tried it, it effects Enic and ultimately Joe Lewis's other business. Same with the Glazers, especially since United are listed on the NYSE and subject to their rules. What are Abu Dhabi going to do, punish themselves and tell themselves they've been bad?

The only true punishment they can face is sporting ones and that's ultimately stripping them of titles and trophies won. I suppose that opens them up to legal proceedings from other clubs since in theory they might not have legitimately qualified for the Champions League and all that money gained could have went to say Arsenal who missed out.

Ha ha (Nelson style). Fuck me, 1984 over there spouting that shite.
What is he even on about? Why would there be repercussions from any government, for a business man investing in his business?

It's FFP that would not be legal in any other business than sports, because from a business standpoint, that's anti-competitive restriction. Imagine laws to suit other large firms to enable them to control their markets by effectively locking out investment, not enabling competitors to grow their brands. Even those rules may be changed, if the rumours are true about UEFA no longer chasing the source of income in the near future.

Also, has he not read the news recently, isn't Liverpool's own sponsor is linked to money laundering with Iran, to avoid us sanctions. So by proxy Liverpool are currently funded by oil money, blood money, dirty money etc.... shock horror.

And the Arsenal bit at the end is the cherry on top, the same club... that was sponsored by the Dubai governments airline long before Sheikh Mansour took over City? That Arsenal yeah? Will that get an enraged dipper response like:

"Arsenal are sponsored by country am nor avin tha, cheats la... What? I know it's not a country... I knew that, they're sponsored by a UAE state then... am still nor avin tha"

They wont do that because it's faux outrage, it's all waffle to feed their drug habit, because have to get their daily dose of pure entitlement or they don't sleep right.

I didnt catch the final score of the Liverpool game last night, so expected to wake up read this morning that they'd won by 5. They should still go through comfortably but at least there'll be some pressure on them

Anyone got the footage of Salah leaving his foot in on one of the Porto players?

Strangely,i haven't seen it mentioned much within the media......

We'd be happy to pay the same as Liverpool paid to all the clubs who couldn't participate in European competition due to be being banned for 3 years through no fault of their own.
