Never go FULL DIPPER.....

I watched my first game when we were in the second division, and I stuck with them By your reckoning we can say the same about Man Utd. I believe that people support whoever, City, Lpool, Huddersfield etc and that is their club and they stick with them whatever. I believe I am lucky I went to Rome in 77 and have seen some great games, same as Utd, Leeds yourselves etc etc, even Everton (maybe). I think we should always argue over footy and leave it there, when it gets personal....and I will leave that there as well. If you are City great, I am a scouser of the red variety, just arguing about footy.

That’s his point I think, you can say it for all clubs yet some (us) are classed as having no history whilst others (you and rags) are classed as being full of it.

The way Liverpool fans go on about history, you would think they have a monopoly on it. What most of them don't understand or don't want to admit is that their golden era came off the back of a significant investment from the Moores family. They bought success; the very thing they're constantly accusing us of doing since the takeover.
They are not alone in that regard. With the possible exception of Spurs, at some point, all of the ‘Big 6’ have benefitted from some form of destiny changing investment that wasn’t generated by revenue; united being more a case in point than any other club.

You are correct about a lack of understanding from Liverpool fans in particular. Because I love City as I do, I have taken the time to extensively research the club’s history and learn about its past, warts and all. Regrettably, most Liverpool and united fans don’t enbark on the same journey, presumably because they don’t care as much about the club they profess to support. If you genuinely think or believe that the United v Liverpool fixture has ‘always’ been the biggest fixture in English football then you merely serve to underline your inability to think for yourself and analyse.

This fixture only came to the forefront in the 70’s. Prior to that is was unquestionably subservient to the Manchester Derby and the City/united v Everton fixture. It’s insane how many united and Liverpool fans fail to appreciate or accept this. There is literally no evidence to support any rebuttal to this point.

This fixture may have become the biggest, or most prominent game in English football, but suggest this was the case half a century ago offends the bounds of logic and common sense. It is a construct of the modern game and should be evaluated accordingly.

That is to say, it’s all a bit plastic.

Well for some reason the call themselves european royalty and some even state that they own a certain trophy - well i would say real madrid hold that accolade and even ac milan have a better case than liverpool

But then that is liverpool for you. They are cut from the self entitled cloth that the rags wear. The best next thing that could hapoen in modern football and in the premiership would be for a wealthy benefactor to purchase and build Everton

Think it's starting to hit home that if we do our job there is fuck all they can do about it:

They are so emotional and maudlin to come out with stuff like this. "A tragedy to football if we don't win the league". Just fuck off. Try Valley Parade, Heysel and Hillsborough if you're looking for footballing tragedies. You have to respect Liverpool for the sensational season they've had, and I do, but when their fans come out with self indulgent bollocks like this, you have to wonder at their lack of self-awareness and you realise exactly why them winning the league is most neutral's worst nightmare. Everyone outside the Anfield clan understands this but they just don't get it.

I have no issue with genuine Liverpool fans like yourself. Unlike many posters on this board, I genuinely like Scousers and have several season ticket holding Scouse Liverpool fans who I consider to be good friends. Liverpool is one of my favourite cities in the UK.

You do have, however, a decent rump of supporters who are significantly more insufferable than any others. Maybe it’s a function of your relative lack of success, or simply the type who are attracted to supporting your club, but pretty much everyone I speak to about Liverpool supporters holds the same view. Your desperation for success has bred a monster that cannot, and will not be contained.

No football club is objectively special, but to believe yours is, as many if your supporters do, to the detriment of other clubs, is the height of football supporting hubris.

That’s why you encounter so much hostility on this board, which, for what it’s worth, I do not believe you personally deserve.

That's the best of the lot. So it's now City's fault that United have made arguably the worst set of footballing decisions over the past 6 years than any other club in the history of the game when relative resources are taken into account? Just let that sink in for a moment blues.....

It's City's fault that United appointed Moyes
It's City's fault that United dawdled and signed Fellaini for a higher fee than they could've gotten him for a few weeks earlier
It's City's fault that United gave Rooney a new 5 year contract when he was clearly in decline
It's City's fault that United adopted a scattergun transfer policy in the early weeks of van Gaal's reign
It's City's fault that Di Maria didn't work out
It's City's fault that Falcao didn't work out
It's City's fault that United sacked van Gaal while he was still celebrating winning the FA Cup
It's City's fault that United appointed a damaged goods manager in Mourinho who had got himself deliberately sacked from his previous job
It's City's fault that United let Pogba go for fuck-all then signed him back for a world record fee
It's City's fault that United signed Lukaku for £90 million
It's City's fault that United broke the bank to sign Sanchez and put him on half a million quid a week
It's City's fault that Pogba is shit
It's City's fault that Lukaku is shit
It's City's fault that Sanchez is so shit that he has proven to be a better piano player at United than a football player
It's City's fault that Luke Shaw is a fat bastard
It's City's fault that Ashley Young is a diving twat who eats bird shit
It's City's fault that Ole is now at the wheel and has overseen United's worst run of away defeats for 38 fucking years
We've got a lot to answer for
