But City do not tell other clubs how they should run their affairs, nor do they moralise in the media saying things like ‘even if I could spend that sort of money, I wouldn’t’. You see, its the sanctimonious hypocrisy of Liverpool Football Cult that annoys us, not the spending - everyone does that.

But don’t tell me, it’s net spend that counts. Even the amount of money you spend isn’t your fault.
