Happy with the 9pts and clean sheets.

But.... We haven't actually been convincing, maybe we don't need to be. I keep hearing that's what title contenders need to do. But it's very weird not having played well and still picking up points. I'm not used to that.

West Ham, Palace, Brighton.

Hardly a tough start.

Palace was a decent result. But they blow hot and cold.

Klopp has bought well and like others I think you will challenge. VVD is your most important player, if he gets injured you have major problems as the drop off to Matip or Lovren is huge.

3 shite teams whilst also being teams you beat comfortably last year too.

I really think the anti City brigade will lose their heads if we win the league again this year, their desperation for us not to is obvious.

Liverpool have been given a free pass on trying to buy the league, 100's of millions spent on their current squad, world record fees in more than one position, yet the media so far this season brown nose them in the build-ups to each game to take the pressure off: "they've had to spend because of City", "they spent what they needed to" etc. They're not constantly bringing up money in the pre match press conferences like they would with Pep, they are not comparing squad costs every game, it's blatant double standards time and time again.

It is early days but the way decisions are going against us already with Liverpool getting all the decisions they want, could there have been an extra motive behind the ESPN "luck index" study which prompted titles such as "Liverpool were the unluckiest team in the PL last season" by the BBC? Was this not just a fluff piece to excuse their 4th place finish but also a precursor to excuse some dodgy decisions going their way in the season ahead? Time will tell but even Scudamore's words will seem suspect if things do end up going that way.

The media will try and influence things as best they can on and off the pitch as they always do, they will excuse decisions not going our way("ah these things happen... you get those don't you"), they will continue to try and get under our manager's skin, they will continue to portray our players as villains off the field(Sterling). They will no doubt call for retrospective action like they have done with Sergio in the past while making a joke of every time Fellaini has done worse(the media directly influenced an official decision, when have they ever done that for a United player or a Liverpool one?). They will ignore our players being subjected to dangerous tackles on the field where they would scream bloody murder if one of our players puts in a single challenge remotely like that. They may even call them divers to pave way for more bad challenges going unpunished "ah well in the refs mind he knows he could be diving so it's his own fault, the ref has to be sure".

If we still manage to win the league in spite of all the above, it will arguably be our most significant title win since 2012, they will finally have to get it through their thick skulls that behaving like scummy little snakes will get them nowhere. We can dream can't we? :)

Come the end of the winter period we will all know who will be gunning for the title, and until then it is anyones from us, liverpool, chelsea, spurs as the contenders. The real test comes when a poor run of form kicks in and injuries hit. I believe taking that into account we have the strongest squad depth to cope.

In all honesty your 3 games were easy points on the board, but like you say you dont look convincing when in possession trying to unlock a team from what i have seen so far, it seems a little dereft of ideas, unless you are countering at speed when you do look a totally different side.

United and arsenal though will have a say in it by taking points of those mentioned above.
