Liverpool thread 2019/20

Note the differences with City 17/18. Even if Liverpool win with 4 goals every game till the end they won't break our GD record of + 79. And even if they score 5 goals on average in every remaining game, they still won't break our GF record of 106 goals. Different levels of dominating teams.

And, of course, we didn't have a 3 month break in the middle of the season.

This is a genuine question as I have honestly forgotten: were there constant discussions and Continually updated, Overly detailed potential outcome “when can City win now” flowcharts when we were running away with the league?

I don’t remember them if there were but that could of course be recollection bias at work

I do remember constant discussions of whether our being so far ahead in points was “destroying the league and ruining football” and “whether our dominance needed to be clamped down on in the future... For the good of the game”

can anyone with a Better memory than me

The only narrative I seem to remember was 'how do you stop this city side' and 'is our league turning into a procession'.

Spot on mate, was saying the same last night, tonight at ten is a Liverpool special on winning the title unless we win of course, then it’ll be planned for next Thursday....unless we win of course, the delay factor will bring a wry smile to my face as each week passes by,long may it continue

I don’t go on the sky sports website or app and try to stay away from the bbc (although my boss and his incessant babbling drives me to glimpse at bbc almost hourly) so can’t recall any articles.

We know that the narrative is different. Pointless allowing yourself to be bothered by something that can’t be proved one way or another.

Carragher sat in the stand being paid by sky to join in with the Kop’s chants or Martin Tyler
implying that Ederson faked his 18 stitches is easier to point out but they don’t give a fuck because for every blue that fucks sky off, there’s 10 plastic rags or dippers who will lap it up.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult for me to get away from reading/watching/hearing it these days, as it is one of my only ways to pass time and engage with the world now, hence why I choose to discuss it (on one of my “good” days that I can functionally participate on here)

but I respect those that can and have binned off Sky and generally ignore the drivel

Fair enough. Sorry to hear of your situation. There are a million websites to get your news from other than sky though.

"Not ONE opposition touch in their box, a 23rd home win in a row and a ton of goals already... the stats behind Liverpool's Crystal Palace masterclass as they prepare to end 30 years of "tainted" title torture"
Edited for accuracy.

There it is for everyone too see. "Masterclass"

Now, correct me if I am wrong. Where does it say Palace are a poor side. Just like the media did when when we played Arsenal and Burnley.

Unfortunately, most all sport news sites, podcasts, and channels are doing the same as Sky, hence my and others’ frustration. Hard to escape the clamour for the “moral and spiritual leaders of football” to win the league... I suspect not only because it is Liverpool but because they are beating the “evil, dirty, foreigners” in doing it
