To compare the money both clubs have spent offers no perspective and insight into the debate at all. The facts are clear, no point in rehashing them. You say that we’ve spent a lot of money which is true but we’ve also recouped a great deal which you haven’t. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just the situation at hand. It seems like it’s you guys that have the issue with finances, not me, but let’s noy let this descend into a row, I’m only here to talk football
We've not recouped a great deal on player transfers as our best players don't tend to want to leave.

To recoup so much just means you were a selling club when the bigger vultures circled, really nothing to be proud of!

Eh? Who’s said it’s anything to be proud of? I’m simply stating what happened. That’s the MO of our club, not one penny over our means. In the current climate, I disagree as I think one or two extra quality additions would be a godsend. I support the team but I don’t necessarily endorse everything FSG do. The inactivity with our stadium has been disgraceful.

We haven't recouped a great deal 'cos we don't sell our best players.. That's why we've got a deep squad and you have a good first 11...

Let's be honest, you lot wear the net spend tag like a badge of honour, or you wouldn't have brought "recoup" into the conversation, maybe time for a little self reflection.

Fair point. However your club doesn’t need to actively sell whereas our board encourage it. There’s a difference there. There’s rights and wrongs on both sides, it’s certainly not a black and white argument.

That’s a classic straw man argument - you’re mooting something that doesn’t even exist. Have we had a good run with injuries in key positions? Definitely. Doesn’t mean anything’s bad there. And if the inference is doping etc do you know how many times players get tested a season? No club could get away with it for any extended period.
My own take is that it’s small gains. For example, we took Bayern’s fitness coach off them. If that makes us 4% fitter and less susceptible to silly knocks then it’s job done. Tiniest of margins at this level of the game.
Erm, yes well deduced la, I was indeed inferring to doping. Rawk and Redcafe have threads on us being doped (amongst many other things) so with your 'luck' of not getting injuries makes me wonder. And it made me wonder how Leicester gathered momentum to win the PL with a new manager that signed fairly late in the previous close season(but that's another argument)

It's will be at least 90 years before Liverpool or Spurs win the PL and the PL chiefs do not want to see Manchester City win it for a third time on the trot. Our opening home game to Spurs was obvious of their their plight to stop us with 2 farcial VAR decisions against us!

And as for your new fitness coach making you 4% fitter, fuckin' LOL!

Milner is still running about like the headless chicken he was 10 years ago!

When was the last time a LFC player was dope tested btw?
Brilliant post, I completely agree for the most part *

*Obviously I hope we win the CL. Haha!
Brilliant post? I'm just being honest pal.

I sense a patronsing head patting in your reply la: /

Once again! I give up.

Liverpool only got that money because your best players wanted to leave. Without your best players leaving your transfer kitty/pot was what?

It was Jonny Ball, think of a f***ing number!

Think for 1 minute.

If City we’re a selling club like Littlwoods have been , and our best players wanted to leave, in your opinion, how much would City have got for Sergio, David Silva, Vincent Kompany, De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, etc.

We’d have blown every club out of the water with our net spend figures, even Littlewoods.

But City don’t sell their best players. The club is so well run, that even after FFP, City can still afford to targeted the best players available without the need to sell their best players.

And before you start. Sheikh Mansour stopped investing in the team when FFP was championed and implement by the likes of UEFA, FSG/Littlewoods, United, Arsenal, etc. Because all those clubs knew they couldn’t and wouldn’t be able to compete financially with City.(and PSG)

BTW. If FSG and Liverpool think they can take on Sheikh Mansour, ADUG, City and win, they are very mistaken. I think you know that as well.

I don’t at all, I mentioned pages back that I’m not a big fan of the whole thing. I’m simply stating facts because other people have brought finances into it. As I’ve said, I’d rather concentrate on the footballing side of things.
