I'm not even having a pop at him exactly, he's probably been told to write this tripe.

Just very rich that we, and pretty much, the entire rest of the country should be respectful and give them what they want now it's looking like they might not get it, after months of chicken counting and vitriolically celebrating our europe ban.

In short, sod the lot of them, they're proper specimens.
Well I for one will not be able to sleep through all the worry. ;)

If we wouldn't have been so fucking dismal and kept the gap smaller there would be no talk of giving them the title as they were so far ahead.
I know what your saying mate, but i just think thst after City played SpursVar at home and LiVarpoo away, with Mr Oliver the virus toilet paper invovled in both, our own players knew the game was up.There are many more examples but those two were crushing blows .well played pigmol.decisive deceiptful and clinical.

yeah I was thinking they won their last nine but knew it was an amazing run
They hit a rich vein of CL form with Pearson as manager and that continued into the next season. A remarkable escape from relegation followed by a remarkable title win. The failure of City and the others to not raise their game was a huge contributing factor, but I cant begrudge them winning it. Don't think I'll ever forget Steptoe's volley v Liverpool.

Right, I am not saying I am an ITK but... I have heard that the Premier League will make a statement at 9am 1st April which will state that the league will restart on 4th April and all fixtures will be played until the season ends. There will be a further announcement at 11am the same day to say 'April Fool you sad fuckers, the season is void get over it.'

just give liverpool the title because the premier league officials and VAR have been doing it all season anyway
the truth is football fans will make their own minds up ? and no matter what happens somebody will not be happy and moan and bitch about the outcome

if this was last season or the 100 point season you can bet city would have be called champions, even if it did not finish because of the virus the table would have read the same with city top of the league. so am 100% happy to give liverpool the title and well played to them. but the cups and champions league places and relegation is harder to sort out and good luck with that

Nigel Pearson has never managed in the Champions League.
The 'remarkable ' escape from relegation was under Pearson, the title win was under someone else.....

It would need 14 yeses. Bottom 3 would vote no and then depends on how far down they think they could get CL places. Then again, cancelling the season and starting again wouldn’t make a difference to most of them. Spurs maybe?
Bottom 3 vote 'No' to finishing the season as it stands, as you said. Then the 5 teams outside the top 4 in 5th to 9th who could yet get a CL spot. So that's 8 against the status quo at least. So it's play on at some point, assuming that's possible or abandon it.

Think TBS meant the quality of their play in the last few games was CL form to get into the top 4. Not that they played in the CL

Oh right, just re read the post and can see how i misinterpreted it...
However, the whole leicester city bottom of the league all season, win 7 games, stay up sack your manager,go all pre season with no new manager, appoint a man whose never won the league before in 3o years and 3 countries, just before the season starts and win the title by ten points clear ..scenario still does not make sense to me.
Never mind the 5000/1 odds available for a team that finished 14th to win the league next season.
Ho hum.

Football is finished for the season and we'll be doing well to start the new season in time at the end of August. The reason no one will admit this is for several good reasons :
Public order in Liverpool
Season ticket refunds
Sky TV package cancellations

We are seeing the same thing with holidays, theater tickets and concerts. No one in any industry wants to be the one to pull the plug in case they end up responsible for refunds/ loss of earnings. The season is done and will have to be voided due to relegation, promotion and European places. The title can't be awarded as even though we all admit the dips would have won they are not mathematicaly over the line. Soon the Govt will probably declare any public gatherings over a few hundred off limits as part of containment / delay, or whatever the new name for too little too late is. Once that happens the fa, clubs and sky get to say tough shit, act of God, no refunds. The scousers will have got over their initial desire to loot and murder and be back into 'next year la' mode.

It only the bottom three, but anyone with the remotest chance of being relegated is going to vote for the season being voided, surely, as that will guarantee safety.

The title is the least important part of this. All it means in practice (apart from the kudos) is that you get a slightly bigger part of some of the CL Market Pool for winning your domestic league. What's more important in the overall scheme of things is:
  • Who gets the other CL spots? There's probably 9 teams who could realistically get those other 3 spots, with the very significant revenue that comes with it.
  • Who gets the EL spots? That goes down to 7th place with our League Cup win. Not huge in revenue terms compared to the CL but still better than nothing.
  • Who gets relegated? Losing out on PL revenue will be huge for those 3 teams. Realistically it's probably Norwich and 2 from the 6 above them. But Villa, with a game in hand, could easily escape.
The majority of the PL teams still have something significant to play for. Probably only Burnley, Palace, Everton & Newcastle aren't going to be affected one way or the other. So not just about the title.

I don’t understand why you’ve never mentioned any of this before..
