I do not wish this, but if anyone associated with Liverpool football club comes down with this bloody awful virus, forcing Klopp and his team in to isolation, all these noises off about gifting them the league will abruptly end.

just give liverpool the title because the premier league officials and VAR have been doing it all season anyway
the truth is football fans will make their own minds up ? and no matter what happens somebody will not be happy and moan and bitch about the outcome

if this was last season or the 100 point season you can bet city would have be called champions, even if it did not finish because of the virus the table would have read the same with city top of the league. so am 100% happy to give liverpool the title and well played to them. but the cups and champions league places and relegation is harder to sort out and good luck with that
Fuck them ste, they laughed at us when UEFA thrown this ban at us, they hacked us, Carragher is an absolute gobshite as are the rest of the Scouse nobheads in the media, they've won Fuck all this season and it should finish that way if the league gets cancelled.

Let them get a petition going, let them take it to parliament, let them fuckin suffer. Talk of giving Liverpool the title but giving other teams nothing is complete and utter bollocks.

We could do with a Hologram of Jim Bowen.... Come and see what you could have won.

The title is the least important part of this. All it means in practice (apart from the kudos) is that you get a slightly bigger part of some of the CL Market Pool for winning your domestic league. What's more important in the overall scheme of things is:
  • Who gets the other CL spots? There's probably 9 teams who could realistically get those other 3 spots, with the very significant revenue that comes with it.
  • Who gets the EL spots? That goes down to 7th place with our League Cup win. Not huge in revenue terms compared to the CL but still better than nothing.
  • Who gets relegated? Losing out on PL revenue will be huge for those 3 teams. Realistically it's probably Norwich and 2 from the 6 above them. But Villa, with a game in hand, could easily escape.
The majority of the PL teams still have something significant to play for. Probably only Burnley, Palace, Everton & Newcastle aren't going to be affected one way or the other. So not just about the title.

The financial implications are just so big. £220m minimum for the top 3 in the championship. Losing £100m minimum for relegation teams (assuming they bounce straight back or would be guaranteed relegation next year if they stayed up which is nonsense)

50m for the CL teams minimum, maybe 30m fornthe Europa League teams, 50m sponsorship revenue lost for United if they miss out.

You're talking about deciding who gets roughly £1Bn.

Just had a gander at a certain LiVARpool forum.
My god they are desperate. They are coming up with every possible way for them to win the title.
They are quite willing to disrupt football for three years to allow this season to complete. (however long it takes)
This includes cancelling all other tournaments/cup games and the 20/21 premier league.
Someone has even suggested "as the world's favourite" team, that there is no way cancelling this season will be allowed to happen.
Their delusions holds no bounds. The simple concept that they haven't won jack shit "yet" doesn't even compute...

So the vote should be:

Upset LiVARpool. Start afresh in August

Disrupt all world football for up to three years

Winning the league is great, but surely it's not that big a deal. (so we were told by the dippers last year)

EDIT:
They now want City to have a instant points deduction for cheating FFP. No enquiry needed. That way the FA can give the them the league now. No need to play the 9/10 remaining games...

lee your right. but if the officials have to cancel the season then they lose loads money and we are talking billions ? and how do clubs get any compensation or prize money and there clubs sponsors will be asking for refunds and then fans season tickets money clubs have banked and took loans on. its going to be messy and could kill many clubs in the lower leagues and in the championship

taking my city cap of for the minute ? football is not bigger than life. but so many peoples life is based around football and for many people and many companies its dependent on fans spending money. its a merry go round at all levels in towns and cities. pubs shops chippies food transport all depend on fans going to football games. so its going to hurt people that need football and fans

yes am with you lee i really hate liverpool scum fans and would love nothing more than calling it off and starting again with out winners of losers and the scum scousers fans would be up in arms and candles would be burning bright outside anfield hahahahaha but football got to much money at risk to called it off and the season will be extended to june and july and the euros will be pushed back to next summer 2021

Exactly, and neatly gets the fa off the hook. It wouldn't surprise me if they already have a player in isolation but will keep it quiet as they know that gives an excuse to void the season early - as soon as their squad gets I'll/isolated any 'we would have definitely won' argument evaporates.

They've done a poll on Sky Sports and I think their wishing they hadn't....came back 51% want the season null & void, thought the presenter was gonna fuckin cry....

Lots of united fans will be voting to void it too, most other polls SKY have are inundated with scousers and plastic scousers alike.

Talk of giving LiVARpool the league, is just that.
There are already rules in place if a season has to be abandoned. That is the whole season is null and void.
There are no implications financially (as such)to the FA, as all teams sign up knowing these rules.
It's like any competition, if it is scrapped, hard luck. Doesn't matter what your cost were, you take the risks.
What could start litigation, is veering from those rules.

So the only meetings taking places, will be to discuss when and how the season can be completed.
If it is deemed impossible, the league will be declared void.

Of course the (financial) implications to individual clubs will be huge. Contract situation throughout the industry will create massive problems.
I can assure you the FA won't be trying to look after their golden child, they will be looking after themselves.

But you know what. I care more about the financial fallout to the small industries surrounding the big organisations.
Millions of people will be losing their jobs. This will cause break ups of friendships and relationships.

But no, LiVARpool getting the title is far more important. (to some)
