I can remember the days ( just!)
where a club could be punished if it fielded a weakened team...
I remember the days when "a certain team" sent out a vastly (but not completely) weakened team for an FA cup game against Chelsea (played last due to TV scheduling on the Sunday) before a champions league match away in Ukraine (Wednesday) and were roundly castigated by ALL the football media for "disrespecting" the domestic cup competition. ;)

Jolly Jurgen has confused me a little with his latest city dig, when asked about signing a new centre back:

"There might be some clubs with no financial problems.

"But this club was, and always will be with these owners, very responsible with the things we do."

So, is having no financial problems the sign of a badly run, irresponsible club nowadays? Is hacking a rivals' scouting database actually something you do if you are being responsible? But their latest accounts suggest Liverpool were £12m in debt to the bank and £79m in debt in form of a Fenway Sports Group loan? Sure, they'll have improved due to prize money but maybe Corona has a say too for less 'robust' clubs, however responsible?

And on that subject, is there not even the hint of irony, or self reflection, at moaning about a rival possibly having owner funded sponsorship deals, when they themselves have taken multi million pound loans out from their owners sports group? Maybe we should have done that, loaned billions from the Mansour Soccer Group? But something tells me that wouldn't infact be sustainable, or some may say, responsible.

He of course then goes on to say that he can't rule out buying a new defender. Presumably he's been sniffing too much gluwein over Christmas.

Still expect the Dippers to sign a cb, not like Klipperty has lied before. But, if they don't sign a cb then City's chances of winning the League improve significantly.
To be fair, if City carry on playing like they did against the chavs and can get the whole squad fit, it won’t make a jot of difference who the dippers sign. Despite the whining of the doom mongers and trolls on here, I believe we are the best team in this league and we have not even started to shift any gears yet...!

Klopp is a classless **** with horse teeth.

If the football media weren’t so fucking spineless when it came to reporting on Liverpool, and possessed the requisite intelligence, then they would have asked him to reconcile that comment with the club’s disgraceful attempt to exploit HMG’s furlough scheme.

Kelvin MacKenzie, disgusting specimen that he is, has a great deal to answer for: not just for what he sanctioned in 1989, but also its lamentable legacy of cowardice today.

The last 2 performances have been very good, especially against Chelsea when our 1st half show was sublime. What really excites me is that we now have a very solid defence and there are signs we are beginning to click offensively again. Once we get Jesus and Kun back fully fit then I think the goals will start to flow on a weekly basis.
