And the way there American owners run the club could be a long time before they win the league again. To replace salah and mane goals plus VVD cost a fortune yep they have Jota who looks decent but they’ll won’t be spending next to nowt especially if they don’t get top four this season.

Match day income will put a hole in everyone’s finances this season and maybe into next. Liverpool and United have fan base of international fans who attend their home games, City are not as reliant on them. Travel restrictions internationally will hurt them both with borders probably being shut for most of 2021.

I don’t think we will see Liverpool for a bit, they will have to jettison some players to fund a rebuild. They have a squad of players moving towards their 30s all at the same time. A big problem Pep had to fix when he first arrived, it’s not an easy task.

  1. Manchester City 98
  2. Manchester United 69
  3. Chelsea 69
  4. West Ham United 69
  5. Leicester City 67
  6. Everton 65
  7. Leeds United 61
  8. Aston Villa 59
  9. Liverpool 58
  10. Arsenal 52
  11. Brighton & Hove Albion 52
  12. Crystal Palace 47
  13. Burnley 47
  14. Tottenham 45
  15. Newcastle 43
  16. Wolves 42
  17. Southampton 29
  18. Sheffield United 29
  19. Fulham 25
  20. West Bromwich Albion 15

This is what the table would look like if every team continued their current form until the end of the season. Liverpool and Spurs are right in the shit.
The sad thing is Liverpool would replace West Ham if clubs like the red tops get their way about previous history ensuring their place in the CL.

Predicted back in November in this thread, when they still looked like the big favourites to win the league, that they would miss on top 4 this season. People underestimated the cumulative effects of Klopp running them in the ground and the inevitable injuries.

Just read that Klopp played several of the players, especially defenders, in 37-38 league games last season despite Liverpool leading with 20 pts already in January. I guess it was due to his ambition to break Pep's records for most points, wins, etc. That was unnecessarily ambitious and unreasonable on Klopp's part.

Liverpool fans think they have been just unlucky with injuries but it seems that Klopp's "monster" mentality has invited them.

Financial adverts, always have:
‘Past performance is no indication of future performance’ because some people believe in the opposite of gamblers fallacy in financial matters.

They believe that things never change, a good run will always continue.

the introduction (if it occurs), of a ‘istree quotient, is football doping corruption to the nth level.

Private Eye, have an occasional section called ‘levelling the playing fields’, it’s about turning playing fields into housing/offices, they could easily start a new section called ‘unlevelling the playing fields’ dedicated to the ‘istree corrupt cartel clubs.

Long ball, over the top, fall over in the box one trick ponies.

Their implosion this season, along with their manager unravelling is beautiful to watch.

lets all hope their twatish fanbase has to wait another 30 years to proclaim themselves as the greatest side thats ever played the game. In the meantime they can look down the East Lancs and witness true greatness.
