Scumwashing. They're at it again today. Find a couple of self-appointed crowd "experts" and publish their opinion. Today it's;

"Only Liverpool fans' memories of Hillsborough stopped another disaster in Paris last week"

This based on a "special investigation" based on "testimony from scores of supporters who have contacted The Mail on Sunday" and the opinion of "one of the UK's leading scientists on crowd dynamics".

What I can't understand is why the Mail has such a hard-on for scousers. Money must be changing hands.

They look at what articles get clicked on and receive the most views and then from that make more of them. Anything positive about either Liverpool or United has the great unwashed going onto their website providing them with income. There was a fuck up by Uefa, the French police probably did get heavy handed but what was the alternative? The locals probably did have a go at robbing supporters, however the balanced reporting and assessing of facts that they miss out is the large amount of ticketless Liverpool fans around the stadium and the well documented black market of forged tickets being advertised on social media but also for which people got arrested for.

Well if your one of these newspapers you’d have one of these articles twice a day the amount of clicks they get it’s a none brainer for them.

This is the main problem with the media like everything now all about the money.

I replied with only police memories of heysel stopped another disaster in Paris.

daily mail didn’t allow it……disaster washing, fans without tickets washing, scouse washing.

I'm not sure. I think if they ran the true story it would generate far more clicks.

Quids pro quo?

And the obvious, documented pictures:
Real Madrid end full, in neat ordered rows, no fans outside.
Liverpool end stuffed to overflowing with no walkways visible, thousands of fans outside complaining about not getting in.

anybody can walk that scenario backwards in time, to a couple of indisputable reasons (fake tickets & jibbing in by Liverpool fans).

everything else is just ‘noise’ caused and exacerbated by the same indisputable reasons.

the uk media and Liverpool fans are complete ostriches.

I noticed they referenced Hillsborough but no mention of Heysel in the article. As what to do or what not to do compared to what South Yorkshire police did, they wouldn’t open the gates and they delayed the kick off, they didn’t repeat catastrophic decision making that resulted in an unimaginable break down of crowd control.
