If people wanted to sing the anthem today because they respect or have admiration for the monarchy - good for them, go for it!

If people wanted to boo the anthem today because they hold the monarchy in disdain and are a bit peeved off by what they perceive as a sham of an 'event' taking place today when the country is on its arse - good for them too!

Don't see what all the fuss is about, those booing have as much right to voice protest as those who wish to pay respect.

You don’t, you live in a monarchy. You are a subject. I can’t fathom how people can’t understand that’s the terms of living in England. It’s not a democracy it’s a monarchy.

Anyways, after today certain players should never be selected for England again and Henderson comes out of it looking decent unlike the rest of their stadium. Typical of them really.

But that's not what we're talking about here. Strawman stuff.
But it’s all interlinked, it profiles the fan base, booing the anthem and singing about a dead monarch, I wouldn’t expect any other set of fans in the country doing the latter. It wouldn’t surprise me at all for a government enquiry into why the anthem was played and compensation for the 40000 affected by it. It’s systematic through the rancid club.

Technically, booing anything is disrespectful. That’s the very point of doing it, surely. Booing a tribute to the dead is clearly a bit different to booing the national anthem though.

I’m not defending the Liverpool fans who booed today, btw. I’m not really arsed either way. Personally, I just sat for the anthem at our game, as did a few others. Some sang, a couple booed, but each to their own.
I couldn't resist reverting to the 'footy' words in the last line or so - my last 'harmonised' word was 'team' and I never stopped thinking of CB whilst I was singing.

It's so fucked up that you construct all of that as if it's a good thing

It would be nice if we could hold off on spouting the usual toxic bile about Liverpool supporters, and instead take a moment, this afternoon of 6th May 2023, to appreciate an truly momentous occasion which the world hasn't seen for generations:

In a country that has lost its mind, scousers will actually appear to be the most sane

One for the history

Where have I said that? Im English, although Im not proud to say that at the minute given the state the country is in and watching the Tory government grind it to its knees. But I find it fascinating that people are obsessed by an anthem being booed when our prince who was strutting around in full dress today like nothing has happened, is a paedophile. I wish people would get that angry about things that matter in the world.

The Royal family dont give a flying fuck about you, me or the next person on the street. I dont give a fuck about them. I wouldnt boo personally but im not going to get in a rage about people doing so.

Fully agree.
