As mentioned earlier in the thread, the only thing that irks me is that some media organisations, like Sky, seem reluctant to even mention it. Will be interesting to see if MOTD gloss over it later too.

why bother mentioning at at all? i mean people can boo if they like surely? personally i was cleaning the bathroom during silly hat wearing party, hopefully cleaning the toilet at the very moment. .oh so apt

I agree that some people go over the top, but it’s not “just left unchecked”, as you put it. Reading every single post is impractical though so it always helps if people report posts that they feel cross the line.

My husband is a scouser and a Liverpool supporter. He doesn't himself boo the anthem but he has a lot of friends who do because Liverpool people were treated like shite by the South for so many years. Thatcher, the government, etc. Hillsborough cover-up didn't help. He believes a Southern team may have gotten justice a lot sooner. It's not really aimed directly at the Monarchy, more the establishment, if that makes sense.
