But what your suggesting is that regardless of what's actually taken place, people should show respect if they're told to do so. Where does that end? Dissenters in Nazi Germany speaking out in protest agains the Fuhrer would have been seen as disrespectful there, yet I applaud anyone who was brave enough to do so. Being told to be respectful to a rich man being given a crown isn't quite Nazi Germany but if respect is respect and it's irrelevant to my views then nobody should ever voice dissent about any issue which they see as unjust.

You will keep going to whatever extremity you think justifies celebrating their disrespect. And I will keep pointing out it remains a disrespectful and selfish act, so I'd say we have exhausted this conversation.

My husband is a scouser and a Liverpool supporter. He doesn't himself boo the anthem but he has a lot of friends who do because Liverpool people were treated like shite by the South for so many years. Thatcher, the government, etc. Hillsborough cover-up didn't help. He believes a Southern team may have gotten justice a lot sooner. It's not really aimed directly at the Monarchy, more the establishment, if that makes sense.

As someone who lives down saff, it was only London Thatcher cared about. I
Our seaside town became a ghost town than the torys did dole by the sea. We had a huge influx of scousers which coincided with an influx in crime. Funny that.

Now again there seems to be an influx of scousers moving in again. I hear more and more scouse accents. Plus out of the group of about 10 piss heads who hang around the town every day. You know the sort. Pissed by 7am sitting on benches, normally end up fighting among themselves. 3 of these can afford to dress in LFC merchandise.
Of all the clubs these southerns could have chosen to support, oddly they chose the one that suits them best !

Must be easy to win arguments when you just make up what others are saying.

You can absolutely protest without being disrespectful to others, you can't seem to process there's a time and a place. You think the Dippers booing the anthem made anyone on the fence a Republican? Or just made them look like the hypocritical, self-centred gobshites they really are?
This
No booing at any other ground in parts of the country that is also suffering from poverty etc. Just fuckin dipperland,

The coronation event in itself is disrespectful to others. How is it that people should protest without being disrespectful exactly? Just because it hurts your feelings, it doesn't make it wrong. Where does it end?

lol at the dickheads moaning about royalty and how much money they have, 'feed the poor, people are starving'... whilst they watch multi millionaires kicking a ball about earning more per minute than the whole royal family.

Anyway, nice to see motd highlight the good behaviour at City, the respect, contrasted with the scousers.

Taa wouldn't sing it, but he expects to play for his country and won't sing it they're either... fuck off, don't be part of the country.

Wrong. Hibs fans held banners dissenting the whole event. Motherwell and Kilmarnock fans joined in "shove your coronation up your arse". Not just dipperland at all, I'm dismayed that so many people in other places didn't feel brave enough to voice dissent about it when they had the chance. People doing what they're told in fear of being piled on for not obeying their masters.

I fucking hate Liverpool.

I hate their fans. I hate their manager, I hate their players, I hate their upper management, I hate their sponsors, I hate their lot, I hate their stadium, I hate their murders, I hate their arrogance, I hate their protected victim status, I hate that literally no one with a platform can call them out for fear of retaliation, I hate klopps teeth, I hate their team bus, I hate their ex players, I hate their stupid badge, I hate their motto, I hate their jungle, I hate their merchandise, I hate Van Dick, I hate the way they got away with that transfer Saga, I hate the name “Kop” I hate that they call themselves “kopites” I hate the fact they have fans, I hate that every team has to be subject to you never walk alone. I hate every blade of grass on the field, I hate Every seat in that stadium, I hate the color red, I hate when they get a win(l, I hate it when they get a draw, I hate it that they haven’t gone insolvent and sold for scrap and the wreckage danced upon, I hated them before the booing, I hate them after the booing

God I fucking hate Liverpool.

That’s my new national anthem.
I think you should stop sitting on the fence haha

My view to that is regardless of what actually happened, people lost their lives and grave dancing isn't my thing. As with the Queen's death, she's someone I had zero time for but feel it's appropriate to at least allow others to pay respects for that sort of thing. A rich man being given a crown just isn't the same, it's a farce in every sense. If people still wish to support that then go ahead but I'm quite happy there's still a sane element of the public who wish to boo the fuck out of it.

:)

People who agree with you are sane and people who don't agree with you presumably aren't? Not sure there is much point discussing respect with someone who has that basic principle.

Anyway, just for the record, I am not a monarchist, particularly, but I try to be a decent human being. Not much of a thing these days, but I am old .....

Don't be dismayed ....it's what the majority thinks
