On RAWK they never want to discuss terrorising Europe for decades by fighting, robbing, stealing, looting, attacking away fans with Stanley Knifes, Heysel and killing……, attacking Bulgarian Waiters, jibbing turnstiles, robbing match tickets off their own, pushing locals into fountains, m@sturbating naked from fountains(what is it with Liverpool fans and fountains?), setting the Liver Building on fire, attacking each other, attacking emergency services, trashing Liverpool, attacking opposition player coaches with bricks, cans, bottles, etc, having a shirt sponsor that has been fined hundreds of millions of Dollars and Pounds for illegal money laundering and evading international sanctions, cheating by diverting ground redevelopment money to comply with FFP, illegaly hacking another clubs player database and getting caught ;-), and a whole host of other misdemeanours throughout the history of the club they support.

The way the LFC fans were treated was disgusting but no surprise to anyone who has travelled to watch a football match in France. The French police are fucking useless at crowd control and the Spanish police are only marginally better. Germany and Denmark (our next away trips) are much safer places with better police. I believe the forged tickets was a red herring.
The one lesson I have learned from following City away in Europe (on 22 occasions) is you should usually ignore the so-called official advice and use your own common sense. You have to avoid wearing colours, you have to get up to the stadium very early (sometimes visit the day before to suss out decent places to eat and drink), mingle in with their fans as much as possible so you just look like a typical CL tourist fan. The last thing you want is to be organised into an obvious group of away fans. That just makes you a target. Anyone on here who remembers going away to matches in this country in the hooligan days will know how dangerous it was to be in a recognised group.
If we get to the CL Final this year you can be sure that Istanbul will be carnage because the policing and the stadium itself is not fit for purpose. People need to be smarter if they want to watch games abroad.
Somebody was at Napoli away ;)

Yep - he was banned and the 3 (perhaps 4) posts he made deleted

There is no time/space/tolerance given for any poster - even Liverpool fans - that does not slavishly confirm the mantra that LFC are special/victims/European royalty etc.

Thick as pig shit - the lot of them
You leave pig shit alone

Maybe because the area around the stadium does not have enough space for proper segregation when it is 50% support from each team rather than just a few thousand away fans. Last time I went I nearly got crushed trying to get in on Anfield Road.

Fair do's WDB

Indeed it is, but you are forgetting that despite this, it's never their fault.

Blobs were sweet wine mixed with sugar, lemon and hot water. The Yates' version of a hot toddy.
I remember seeing people asking for a blob in Yates' in the 70s. Most likely alcoholics.
Yates's were frequented historically by alcoholics as you could maintain your drunken stupor for much less money than it would cost in other pubs - notable exceptions being Holts, Boddingtons houses and working mens clubs.
Imagine a downmarket version of 'The Moon under water' (carpets removed!) and you're getting the idea of a traditional Yates establishment.

The one on Portland street is still going, great place :-)

I have never been in a Yates wine shop so I feel that my life is not complete. Being completely honest I am a non-drinker so I suppose I missing out on a huge slice of life.
I used to drink my share, but the need/enjoyment I got from drinking alcohol is diminished by the downsides these days.
I do, however, continue to go in pubs and bars for the social side of things and am helped by the ever increasing range of low/no alcohol
drinks now available.
