I had this out a long time ago with a couple of sound engineers who were dipper fans. They asked me why I hate their club so much and shouldn't I hate the rags more being a Blue? I told them the big difference is that I don't hate the dippers as a football club, but I detest their fanbase for it's violence and mob-rule attitude, I detest their 'always the victims' persona and the way they can be offended by any criticism aimed at the club and yet are quite happy to cheer when an opposing player gets injured and stretchered off. The fact they have gotten away with the destruction of one of our team coaches, the apparent protection of the scumbag who threw a bottle of coins at some poor kid during a game: and all of this without a single mention of the more well-known acts of violence they have inflicted upon society over the years.
So yes, as a City fan I fucking hate everything about the rags with a passion - but I can honestly say I've never had any serious problems with rag fans over the years. But I cannot in all sincerity say the same about dipper fans: they are without any doubt whatsoever the worst that I personally have ever encountered in my entire life.
Any genuine dipper fans lurking (I would imagine there are more than just a few decent supporters who enjoy the games and the banter), I have nothing but respect for you. You have been tarred with the same brush as those low-life thugs and murderers who claim to follow the club, but in reality are only interested in attacking innocent people and causing as much bloodshed and mindless violence as they can. You've probably (unknowingly) stood in the Kop, shoulder to shoulder with some of them many times before, not realising that these are the savages with blood on their hands that have caused so much ill-feeling to you and yours from fans of other clubs across the globe.
