Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Got what we deserved.

We absolutely know what you get with these ****s. 1000 miles an hour, mither fuck out of you and try and get the game won in half an hour.

Only a few weeks ago they did it. They did exactly the same tonight. It’s what they do.

First half they were more energetic, more committed, wanted it way more. Same as last time.

We made mistakes they punished us. Same as last time.

Chamberlain scored pretty much the same goal he scored last time. Same as last time.

There appeared to be absolutely no ‘learning’ gone on, which is the most disappointing aspect for me.

We are so much better than that performance and the last game v these ****s. I can’t get my nut round what goes wrong when we play these. I really can’t.

The only saving grace is it could’ve been a lot worse result wise.

Can’t see us going through now sadly.

Some poor tactical choices. Such a shame we downed tools like that. Tie over.

Need to wrap the league up on Saturday and the go again next season for the champions league.

Klopp has certainly got Peps number. Only manager in world football who has mind.

Onwards and upwards we will this thing at some point but clearly this year is not our time.

I can take losing, as a City fan I got used to it since the mid 1950's.

But bloody hell why do we always play like amateurs when we go to Anfield?

Don't try to blame it on the pre-match coach incident, that should have fired the buggers up.
I totally disagree
it would affect anyone being on that bus particularly if stones/bricks got through. The whole incident screams intimidation.

I think the decision to go with Laporte & Gundogan was the main issue there. Still we've scored 4 at home before.
I thought Laporte was the best player on the pitch, we just have no Plan B. We should have totally slowed it down and took the sting out of the game. Playing Gundogan though was a shocking decision, he looked like he'd won a comp!

Wrong set up 1st half. Disappointing that the experienced players, our big players did not turn up nor did they offer any calming influence in the spell in the 1st half when we disintegrated, for a 2nd time in 3 months at Anfield.
Difficult to give anyone anywhere near a pass mark for that. Lots of the ball in the 2nd half but no shots on target, against that shit defence and that bang average midfield?
That one is on Pep and the senior players....hopefully we will go for it on Saturday now.
How the feck we let that useless fecker Oxhead Chamberpot score against us again and look like Zidane....I'm still fuming for that 1st half shambles

Should we be really surprised going there anymore?

It's just groundhog day whichever players or management we have

At least he wanted the ball and was willing to try something. Didn't come off for him but find it amazing of all the performances the one guy who seemed willing to have a go gets the stick.

Sane was the one city player who was afforded time and space on the ball continuously but he bottled it. Doesn't look as bad for him though as he didn't really play any worse than the rest.

All on Pep. Wrong shape and personnel. Laporte is rubbish and we didn’t need him. Gundogan offers this team nothing and the likes of Silva/KDB didn’t wanna know.
I see where you are coming from totally. I do feel Silva at least tried second half with KDB holding back to much waiting in some situations where he should have gunned it. He did it a bit but to little to late. Our transition from one wing to another was easy to telegraph. Laporte is a future star but a bit like Gundogan, not made for matches like this. I see him exactly as i do Stones, a rolls royce of a player.

The main issue i saw was part of what you allude to, centre of midfield lost that mental link with each other, it became fragmented and we lost control of it. All of this could be leveled at having the bollocks to put up wit it.

I suggest the Napoli away match was a perfect example how to approach these games, we seem to have forgot.

When have "Typical" city ever made it easy for themselves ? 90 mins still to play, hopefully we will see more commitment from our players. Barca turned over PSG we can do it to that bunch of twats.
