I'm not advocating for this - but any chance we see a youth player besides Kelechi in the starting XI? It is likely Yaya will miss out. I have the same inclination that Silva is probably pretty gassed himself. It would be surprising if either of the Garcia's were even on the bench at all, but I suppose it is possible. I see this game being drab or boring if both starting lineups are near the same. These players will not be able to produce the same intensity we saw 2 days ago...City can maybe ride the wave of emotion for the first half of the game. Hopefully we can score early...

Also, its not been said previously from what I can tell, but Bony will surely play a part at some point in this game. Whether we like it or not is an entirely different matter...
This is no game for kids as we always struggle there, maybe on saturday

I am also concerned because really both Silva and Yaya ought to be rested, but I can't really see how it can be done and still maintain the midfield-compactness that is required to win. Surely Navas is coming in to the starting 11 but how will the midfield have to look like if there is no Yaya?

Surprisingly for us anyway set pieces might be the way to win this game. They were awful at defending them on Sunday and we have to make the most of that.

I think this will end a draw like when we played back to back games against Everton.

I think Navas in for Sterling we will protect him in this game and use him as a impact sub in the last 30 minutes. We can sneak a win tomorrow night if we defend right and break Coutino legs but we need us to take our chances if Kuns on form we could get the win. Depends on how well each set of players recovered from Sunday.

It will be imperative not to concede early as they will try and overwhelm us from the start with the crowd baying for revenge. Hold out and they will run out of steam and we can punish them.

Didn't Pelegrini in his press conference today more or less say Sterling was nailed on to start? Suggesting he will handle the pressure, or indeed thrive in it.

Big mistake this....will prove a ready made pick me up for these pathetic Liverpool fans who are gutted right now after losing. It's not like Sterling is playing brilliant and scoring goals for fun at the moment...his confidence clearly suffered after those misses on Sunday. For me, it's got nothing to do with this dealing with pressure situation....he has dealt very well with the pressure so far for such a young man and I hope he has a fantastic finish to the season for City.

Regardless of form, of despite his missed chances Sunday he was largely very good and was exceptional in Kyiv.
That being said, with Ya Ya struggling for fitness, Silva not 100% and De Bruyne and Nasri injured. Even Delph who could provide an alternative injured Sterling is one of the first on the team sheet.

I too would like to Hart replace Willy, Navas for Ya Ya and everyone else the same.

If Silva and Yaya can start I think they should, they may have to come off if they need a rest, but I feel we need to start them at Anfield. Would prefer to see them not starting against Villa and having next week off as well.

I like Pellegrini saying Sterling will start. I think its good man management. Give the lad a boost knowing the manager has confidence in him. Plus gives him a chance to shove the shit back down their throats.
