City come first though. I remember at the 2019 league cup final everyone watching the Utd/Liverpool game in the concourse beforehand was desperate for Liverpool not to score. If United had lost that game then we wouldn’t have won the title.
I've seen liverpool fans desperately wanting utd to beat us when they had a shot at the league, in the final stretch of our 98pt title. And the old school ones hate them almost as much as we do. Similarly, seen them willing everton on that same season against us, desperately also late in 2014 as well, in that game dzeko went for a nap on the floor (and scored that header too, obvs).
Seeing utd lose would be good, but i'd still rather take keeping liverpool at bay or getting a wee gap between us, long term.
A fair few make a draw sound really good and convincing, and might be the best of all worlds. I just can't shake the feeling that every point liverpool drop is going to be big.
edit. Besides if utd should by some stretch go on to sustain a title challenge, it would feel that bit sweeter when we pip them to it after they and the media get the hype and hope up. Having also pipped the mighty liverpool to it as well in the same season.
And I do believe in our lot!
