Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
One of the most under rated bands of the 80's.
Forever labelled a Scottish band (formed at Glasgow Uni) Cole is Buxton born and grew up in nearby Chapel-en-le-Frith.
During a gig a few years ago at Manchester Academy he stated he went to Maine Road and Hillsborough on alternative weeks - he even asked ''how long are you City fans going to put up with Stuart Pearce''!!
Anyway, top band..... here are my favourite top 5.... what are yours?

Cole never did himself any favours by being a pretentious sod and a bit of a smart arse but you can't deny he was a very good songwriter.
Rattlesnakes was always my favourite, but there isn't really a decent version on YouTube. I liked Brand New Friend as well.

Rattlesnakes for me by far the best album with Perfect Skin, Lost weekend etc in top five.

Saw them supporting Simple Minds at Milton Keynes Bowl in 86. They were on at the same time England were playing Argentina in the 'hand of god' game. They took great delight updating us of Englands fate inbetween songs.
