Lokeren Away 2003

My first proper european away that, though did TNS away too (too young when previously in europe), brilliant trip with my mates, I drove there and back, 4 passengers all getting pissed, pulled into a service area to ask the police for directions to parking, wound the window down, and saw the policeman take a step back from the escaping alcohol fumes, he just smiled, and gave me the directions I needed.

Also did Groclin too (flew to Germany, then drove), and we got a police car blue light escort from about 2 miles away, wrong side of the road at times, when they saw our shirts.

Groclin away was a joke. They let us in about 10 at a time, opening that sliding green gate. No wonder it kicked off, plenty without tickets trying to jib in. The flight home was carnage with police waiting at Manchester.

The only trouble I saw was the overturned portaloo with someone inside.

We flew from Stansted (based in the south anyway) so no issues on our flight/

That season might be my highlight season away in europe, though Copenhagen is up there, for other reasons (I've never spent so much money in 5 days, anywhere in the world).

A City fan got a slap off some other 'blues' inside the ground. Reason it kicked off on the way home.

Copenhagen was a great day despite the snow. We ended up in a gaff called the 'Spunk Bar'. Pricey place but the women where stunning

Funny this coming up as I was looking at photos from that trip just a couple of days ago. Waited ages for a European away trip (TNS didn't really count did it). I remember the match ball landed in the City end at one point and a lad nicked it, then some other lad nicked it off him and legged it. Also remember when it kicked off in the seats to the right of our end one lad near me took his trainer off and threw it over the fence at the Lokeren fans. Think that is the most stupid thing I have ever seen anyone throw. Doubt he got it back and doubt he had a spare one.
