London - the centre of England ?

I liked living in London . Loved cycling to work and the parks. Community spirit was great due to a couple of people on our road making an effort . However, I was a bit scared getting off the train late at night. Now live in rural-ish Yorkshire and work in Leeds. I don't think I'd move back to London. However, if you give me a nice house in a leafy bit of Kent then that would be okay with me. As to money being spent, I go to work on a pacer train which is basically a bus frame on some train wheels . I doubt that Londoners would be forced to use those old trains.

honestly I work there it is true

I live and work here. It isn’t. Comprehensive N bus routes are 24/7 and a handful of tube lines are 24 hours at weekends.

RE: Cost. I only find housing more expensive. Pints in the club are £3.15, bus fares a flat rate (£1.30 or so), shopping the same etc. I earn 30% more than I was on in Manchester.

The people living in London are rude especially on the tubes. In the north on the trains and public transport we make conversations with people and are polite and friendly.

As others have said, amazing place to visit but i could never live there. A weekend at a time is plenty.
Had a fabulous weekend there last month, stayed near St Pauls and explored Southbank and Brompton.

Explored the pubs of south bank and Brompton??

Myth. I used the Met daily for 18 months and nobody started conversations with each other.

Londoners just keep themselves to themselves. Seven million rude people? What a stupid thing to say.

Was in town Sunday fucking hate the place mate, it is a dirty shithole.

It is sadly.

It looked to be on the up a few years ago, which it is in terms of business but it’s getting worse in terms of how it looks and culture.

I get the Met every day almost and no one talks to each other, just the way I like it.

It’s almost impossible not to find your niche in London. There’s something for everyone. Food, music, shows, shops, museums, exhibitions etc. It’s all there.

The indifference or apathy commuters show is them just being reserved and respecting your space too. Lots of capital cities are the same. Experienced it in Stockholm and Paris.

To be honest that's every city, and not all of us can live in the countryside.

Do you think dozens and dozens of people lay across the city centre covered in their own vomit should be normal?

Or people openly and obviously dealing drugs without fear of consequence?

Because that’s Manchester City Centre.
