Loneliness at Christmas

OK, We all know what day it is today, and whilst most of us enjoy today being around friends and family, there is always an element who are less fortunate. Now, I'm single at the moment( but that's my choice) But today I'll be picking my daughter up, then on to my family..then tomorrow I'll see other family and my mates etc etc. I've got a very large family and friends network, but like I said, some people are not so fortunate. So to them blues on here who are feeling any kind of loneliness this Christmas.. Happy Christmas and God bless. X

Well yes, but there are two sides to this.

I know workers from Australia, New Zealand etc. who obviously can’t jump on a train to see the family for a few nights. There’s ten or so eating out later. Adopted family.

The single / divorced / widowed men from my old local all congregate in the pub where the gaffer did food! One or two characters amongst them.

I’d volunteer in a day centre or something if I couldn’t bear the thought of being alone. I had an ill one at home alone one year. I just ate what I could and went on the sofa with my duvet.

Yes Karen, that's how I feel. It's my choice and one I quite like, not saying I'm going to stay this way but it's what I'm comfortable with at this moment in time. Unfortunately, there are many people who don't want to be alone and have lost loved ones, it's them my heart goes out to. All the best to you and Silva :)
