Long distance fans

City's American fans that I met in the Mad Hatter in New York are a bloody knowledgeable crowd, they knew more about City than I did and I'm a 61 year old season ticket holder, Manchester born and bred.

If anything absence makes the heart grow fonder for long distance fans, I can turf up at the Etihad no problem, they make the trip so rarely it's a pilgrimage and in the long meantime they feed their hunger by devouring all things City.

Their City knowledge put me to shame.

If you are a City fan than is something special about you. Why does it matter where you were born? When I was younger, I supported City and one of my friends Nott Forest; we used to be very proud. We still are.
