Looking for a hotel in Manc

Can anybody reccomend a deccent hotel in sunny Manc? I'll be staying in a hotel for the first time in about three weeks. I'm not looking to spend a ton as It will be for a week at least, maybe two. I have found ten or so on the interweb. Any suggestions as to which one is deccent, or any that I have missed. P.S, I want to be right in town, not out in the middle of nowhere as I won't be driving. Cheers.

Have a look on gumtree for some short term let apartments in the city centre. Probably cheaper than a hotel.

I'll have a look but I'm thinking hotel because I'll probably be taking off to the lakes or Edinburgh or something at some point so don't want to book more than a couple of nights at a time in any one place.

Most of my colleagues from out of town used to stay at the Macdonald.

Probably Abode. Decent location just off Piccadilly. Good reputation. Great, yet expensive restaurant. Some on the others, whilst are centre hotels, are a little further out like the one on Cheetham Hill Road. Velvet on Canal Street. May be lively there!

Cheers for the replies lads. I'm leaning towards:
Park inn Radisson
Renaissance Manchester City
Novotel Manchester City
These three seem to be offering quite big rate reductions. Any experience with any of these.
