Still alive here....
Left my phone on a bench earlier. Went back 5 minutes later and gone. Rung out and now turned off so some fuckers keeping it.
It's worth nowt as a phone bt priceless with contacts and pics. Was also worried about e-mail/google pay/access as phone isn't locked.

I'd just took the top off my first pint and was looking forward to a drink and chilled game of pool. Instead I had to leave a full pint and go charging around the streets looking for the scrotes that were near the bench.
Half an hour of internet pissing about and phone calls and everything is blocked now so panic over, but fuck me, it was almost as bad a feeling as losing the mutt in the woods.

It’s the fucking hassle and loss of pics and contacts as you say,any cards thankfully you have cancelled/blocked but it’s a complete ball ache when something like this happens mate ..

Frightening how dependant we are on our phones. When I come over for a game, my flight boarding passes are on the phone, ditto the match ticket. Day to day banking is done on the phone ( the local branch closed down 3 or 4 years ago). My Covid cert was on my phone. How the fuck did we manage without smart phones?

I have posted this before. When I got off the shuttle bus at the fanzone in Istanbul I discovered I had left my phone on the bus.

I got it back pretty much straight away thanks to the diligence of the driver who’d checked the bus before she set off back to the celebration village and had handed it in to the stewards.

The feeling for those few minutes were absolutely devastating. I had not even considered the cards and other financial details on it.

You will find it tomorrow in a pocket

For anyone else that loses their phone;

I went on my google account and you can block all activity on the lost device .

Phone provider (bt) and they block your sim card. They also send a new one first class with the same number. Call took about half hour.

Take these steps and your pretty safe with the phone and all apps being useless. This is for pay as you go contracts

Providing whoever nicked it doesn't have your fingerprints or exact face they won't be able to do anything with Apple Pay / Google Wallet.

That's the weird thing about robbing phones - providing the owner has a basic sense of security a stolen phone is completely useless once it's been logged as missing in the Find My app / iCloud. Even if the thief tries to wipe it, they'll never be able to activate it as the IMEI number on the phone is still linked to the original owner's iCloud account. It's worthless unless they want to rip it apart for spare parts.

That's for iOS anyway - Android probably has a similar system.
