maybe a unique way of improving attendance away from home would be to offer 20 loyalty points for buying a ticket, then if the away allocation is not totally sold out then those that went gain an extra 10/20 points. if the allocation sells out then no more points are added.

it would be a greater reward for those that do the more unfashionable games.

I can see where you're coming from, but it's too divisive. Say you had every intention of going but couldn't get time off work/fell ill/lost your job etc etc. That doesn't make you any less of a fan, but you're being penalised for it.

With the greatest of respect, I also think that your idea would also encourage people to buy an away ticket with no intention of going but to sell on and get the loyalty points. Who knows who will end up with it?

People do this already! Some buy the tickets to get the points (home cup games in early rounds for example) and don't have any intention of going to the games, some don bother even selling them on, hence the low attendances! [all more important than the Community Shield, this subject doesn't get 8 threads totalling about 150 pages though does it?!]
