Luke Mbete | On loan at Huddersfield

Initially, I had no worries about our squad depth but we are looking really thin now. I know Pep hates a bloated team but we are getting close to anorexic level now.
Madness, we are only 3 games in and already have both our left sided CB's injured. The season is gonna be long and we've no idea how these guys will comeback on the otherside of the WC, surely this season of all was the right one to keep some guys back in case.

Maybe Pep was impressed with Walker at CB, if that's the case then we would see more of Rico this season, the only loser from this would be Mbete.

I think a loans a good move (as long as he gets some game time). Hes promising but nowhere near ready for our level. Walker and at a push Phillips can cover CB.

Agree,he regressed somewhat last season (reason isnt important) and now he is rebuilding, and doing a sound job,but isnt quite ready.

A loan is definitely beneficial.

I was talking about evaluating him at the senior level
Wasn’t great at EDS since his return from injury. Even Egan-Riley who was a rb when moved to CB at a point in their season looked more comfortable and the better of the two. Nonetheless, they seem to have faith in him. He has the physical attributes to be a top CB. Only time will tell if he can get back to looking he did prior to his injury.

It was also because of his injury Callum Doyle moved up to EDS before the Sunderland and now Coventry move; great Euros tournament too.

Like this. I think he's got a lot of potential and playing regularly will benefit him more than training with us and getting a few cup games. After years of not loaning any of our better kids out we've done a complete 180 this year and loaned them all out, personally, I think we will see better improvement from them this way I just hope we have made the right choices with the clubs, Huddersfield, Coventry and Stoke have all had poor starts.

He’s a good passer of the ball but as centre back my guess is he’ll be league one to national league level

What because I gave an opinion that you disagree with? Haha

You will always be a target if you go against the grain around these parts.....however,i have to agree that i think you do the lad an injustice.....he has the attributes to do very well,so its far too early to be writing him off from reaching the top.

Yes that’s fair enough. I’m not having a dig at the player it’s just what I think from what I’ve seen of him. I also think it’s so difficult for centre backs to break through at a high level. So league one to national level is realistic until proven himself week in week out. I rate Taylor Bellis highly and prefer him over Mbete.
