This is a shocking question to ask but I wonder what the McCann’s are thinking about it right now - do they hope that she was killed quickly within a day or two or are they praying she’s still alive but potentially suffered 13 years of abuse after abuse? What an horrendous place to be in I just hope they get some closure.

Im sure neither mate because both of those scenarios are incredibly unlikely. The suspect in this has been in prison for years and so she has certainly not suffered 13yrs. And horribly but factually correct, abducted children killed in non familial murders are killed within hours of being taken as per the studies for the Catchem database which is an academic study taken from hundreds of cases around the world used to inform detectives investigating them. The family will have been told this.

Sounds positive in terms of finding the culprit but I am not buying that this was a random act of burglary and bad luck for the McCanns and the poor girl. Their negligence wasn't just down to that one night it was repeated behaviour and some **** took advantage of that with tragic consequences for Maddie.

Apparently Maddy woke up the night before and was crying for her Mum to come (who wasn't there) according to Kate McCann.

I wonder if the burglar broke into the house the previous night, woke up the kids, realised they were alone and went back the following day to scope out the apartment (maybe the blonde guy that eyewitnesses mentioned) before abducting her in the evening.

She died that night sadly, not much doubt about it knowing these new developments. The circumstances will be much like Holly and Jessica over here years ago. That followed the classic offender pattern that these sex offenders follow

There has been an arrest. I wouldn’t get ahead of yourself before you trawl back a million pages to have a dance in the sun.

This guy may well have killed her in there and shifted her, assuming he has anything to do with it.

Putting them in prison, probably not. But there’d normally be some level of intervention at some point, by some level of authority regarding their perceived fitness of parenting.

Apart from their own guilt and suffering, they seem to have glided through any legal consequences that accompany capitalised instances of neglect. Unless, of course, I am mistaken.

I understand people assume the extremes, but I’ve seen first hand very real consequences for parents in instances of neglect that many would perceive had a less profound consequence for the parties involved.

I remember something about they were investigated by social services and observed with the twin,don't now about anything else
