Madrid Match Tickets

Hi

Can anyone recommend the best place to purchase Real Madrid tickets? Want to go for my birthday, but thats against Atletico Madrid so I'm guessing prices will be astronomical! Almeria play there 2 weeks later so might go for that, cheapest i've found is 75 euro for tickets where you need binoculars!! Any advice?

A post i found regardin' cheap Real Madrid match tickets ........

Wait until you get out there. They early sell tickets for all games to season ticket holders and members only - then around 3 days before the game they start releasing them to public. They'll release one tranche in the morning three days before, then a second two, and a third on the day of the game. They'll release all tickets which haven't been sold around two/three hours before the game. I think the stadium's not been sold out for a while in the league - normally around 3/4k tickets remain unsold.

When we went, we just pitched up 2 hours before the game and managed to get 4 tickets sitting next to each other in the main stand no problem. tickets were between 20 and 60 euro's although the cheaper ones sell out first obviously. We went for the 40 euro jobs. plenty of bars around-abouts so if he pitches up early he can get some drinks beforehand.

Went to Madrid in 2005, with the misses. On the Sunday we realised that Real Madrid were playing at home. We asked at the tourist office in central Madrid how to get tickets. We were told the best bet was just to turn up at the ground. About 2 hours before kick off we arrived and found dotted around the outside of the stadium many ticket booths. We waited in line and when it was our turn we were offered (If I remember correctly) either €65 or €25 seats. As we had splash out a lot already around town we took the €25 and went straight in. And below is were we sat. Up in the clouds but a great view nonetheless. They were playing Mallorca so not sure if it would be as popular as a derby. On the way into the ground the match programs are handed out free!

Hope this helps and have a great time. Madrid is a fantastic city and people are very friendly.

PS if you do go to the derby, I think that who ever wins all their fans go to a fountain in the center of town for a piss up

I've been twice with a very large group. The first time we bought tickets from a tout (v Barca) and the second time I rang our hotel and they sorted tickets and we paid a smaller premium.

It is very difficult to get information. They are not interested in looking after visitors from overseas which is why touts and the like do so well there.

When we went last time there was no information at all when we did the stadium tour (which is great) the day before the game but come match day tickets were on sale but there were huge queues.

When we do it again I'll ring my hotel and ask them to source tickets for me again. It's worth it for peace of mind and timesaving.

I echo the earlier poster - Madrid is a fantastic city to visit.
