dont know if already mentioned but a small article in mail on sunday saying that MH pissed off with prem clubs hiking up players value ie RSC and west ham duo

so he now looking to holland for a few defenders and portugal for MIGEL VELOSO at around 11 mil

think that would be a quality buy and a few of the dutch defence look quite tasty

i feel that is the sort of target he should have gone for from the start

but a big well done to him for not allowing club to be ripped off and i reckon towards end of window ie last few days u will see price for parker, bellamy and RSC come down as both clubs need money esp west ham

any thoughts
 
I think we're playing it well (the transfer market that is). Can't really blame these poor clubs for trying to milk us for a few more quid but when it comes to 31 Jan and they still haven't got their £12million, their attitude might slacken somewhat. :) Cheeky fookers!
 
I guess it part this was due to Hughes foolishly saying he was looking for players with premier league experience and narrowing the pool of targets in the eyes of the teams we are bidding for players from.
 
Dont think now we will sign anyone soon.. esp from the prem. but can we afford to play the waiting game, i for one say no, thats playing in to their hands, if hes looking abroad then he better get his skates on pretty dam sharpish.

defenders from holland......i know they have some good defensive midfielders we could do with, engalaar, heitinga also Nigel de Jong

any of these would give us a defensive midfileder we neer, with heitinga also able to play CB

Nigel De Jong is a good shout. He was brilliant in the Euro's. Im a fan of Hetinga, but i cant see him leaving Madrid till the summer.

yeh true, only joined athletico in the summer, still i cant imagine De Jong would cost too much, would be a transfer in the kompany mould, (highly rated player bought for cheap......id guess)
 
I know it wrangles a lot of people on here, but in this particular transfer window I believe we should just give them the money. We need 3 or 4 new players in now, we havent got the time to piss about. Its not as if our new owners can't afford it.

why, we would be seen as push overs come the summer, then every 'big' target we went for would have an extra £10m on the price,

if we show now that we arnt going to get taken for mugs, reject stupid valuations of players till clubs realise that, when we offer money, its wise to accept it as we wont hang around forever, especially when club could do with our money, it would help our future transfers.

are you telling me that blackburn couldnt use the £15m were offering them? the soon we tell bburn to fuck right off, the sooner they will come back to us with a reduced valuation
 
I understand what you are saying, but the longer we leave it the more points we will drop. Also we may miss out all together.

Abso-f*ckin-lutely.

If they are genuine 'quality' players then pay whatever has to be paid to get them in, and get them in fast.

And by genuine 'quality' players i dont mean RSC or Parker....... we should be prepared to pay a little bit more than the going price but they are not good enough for us to have the financial piss taken out of us.

As for Bellamy......... cmon Spuds, you know you want him!

We need quality and we need it fast.
 
i bought my mates ford focus for £2,500
it was valued by the local dealer at £4,000 against another car or £2,800 cash
I had £2,500 and gave him pound notes and a £500 escort(knackered)
he was divorcing and needed to offload his assets (he'd already done that with another bird ha ha )


so Mr Hughes even though you have money burning hole in the fans pockets for signings
play sensibly -if we are getting belamy then the skint baldie at boiled ham should be glad he will get the full money not £3 pound in jan and the remaining £10 million next 3 years

money talks -credit crunch
dont pay over the odds,put offers in then have a glass of wine and wait for the phone to ring
meanwhile,get your current players to play for the pigeon on their shirts with the stars
