Went to see this play last night. Bit short at 1 hour 5 minutes, with minimal props and only 5 actors. A play about social housing and relocation in 2003, at the time when City were about to play their last ever game at Maine Road.

Spotted Nedum Onuoha quietly chatting with some friends, and he signed a couple of theatre programmes for some young fans.

Don't know what he thought of the play, but I had mixed feelings. Is social housing a genuine problem these days ? Do City fans "f*uck and blind" in everything they say ? Are we really all knobheads and losers ? Dunno...

Anyone else going to see it ?

I saw it last year and wish I hadn't bothered. Family have to move out of their house as Maine Road closes, and relocate to.... EASTLANDS(Predictable from the start in my opinion)
Five actors stretch this out for an hour. Whilst a few bit's of Oasis, Doves and radio commentary are blasted out of the PA system.

I had seen Phantom Of the Opera a few months beforehand so maybe it was a tiny bit of a comedown ;o)

Hmmmmm.

That what i said when in finished.

I was good but not mint, finding it hard to explain but as you said was predicted from the start.

Some funny parts in it also.

Saw it last night. Short and at the best sweet. Perfomances of Leo and his Jade were good. Jade's was best performance played by Sarah McDonald Hughes who wrote the play. Some poignant references and scenic backdrops to City and end of Maine Road and good Manchester music played inbetween scenes. Very minimalist- a few props and 5 boxes as 'sets'.

It will have some resonance for City fans but it wasn't memorable. But, don't want to be too damning coz it's a good effort from a young writer with what must be very few resources.

Glad it was only on for an hour though, otherwise would have got proper twitchy.

Thank god for that. I was going to go but decided to go to the Frog and Bucket. Seems I made the right choice, especially as they also play Madchester music between acts!

I went last night as well and totally agree with your review. Wasn't memorable but was well written and the lack of props didn't do anything for me, more props and a bit more passion from the father and the son would have helped.

But I am still glad I went.
