- City set the early pace in the league going 10-12 games unbeaten and are top 2/3 at the turn of the year
- sudden dip in form in the new year losing 4 out of 6 games, press having a field day, Andy Gray ecstatic
- come storming back into form winning 9/10 of the last 12 games
- finish on 83 points (W25, D8, L5)
- win FA Cup beating Chelski, Mr Chelski scores own goal
- Barry named footballer of the year
- Owen scores in first 3 games and is hailed as yet another 'masterstroke' of the genius
