Making a Murderer Part 2

He didn't operate one so he put it next to the pile of cars that were due to be crushed by the guys who actually operated the crusher. The police wouldn't have known this was the place that cars were lined up to be crushed so it's a huge coincidence that it was found there if they planted it. Also, if he would have randomly started crushing a car, that would have provoked a lot of suspicion among his family and I suspect he was banking on the car not being found (not exactly wise either).
I am only playing Devil's advocate here FM but if we are to assume that Avery was being fitted up then it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that the police know quite a lot about him. He has been of interest to them for a fair old while. Incidentally I have no idea of whether he is guilty or not.

Avery had 3 days to put the car there before she was even reported missing and was on his own property. The police had just over a day to put the car there after she was reported missing, onto someone else's property while trying to keep it quiet from the media, the Avery's and the volunteer searchers that were around the property. Not only did they manage to do that, they managed to displace the two cars that were next to it, hide the licence plates, disconnect the battery, and cover the car with branches which would have taken more time and a lot more risk. That's arguably without knowing she was even dead.

Only the car wasn't on his property before November 3rd - the day Teresa was reported missing - because that was the day an independent witness reported seeing it near Scott Tadych's trailer.

They probably knew a lot about him but the only way they'd research in advance where to put the victim's car in the event of a murder is if they planned to murder the victim themselves. Making a Murderer 3 anyone?

I'm only up to episode 8 but witness testimony is notoriously unreliable. We had an independent witness testify that Teresa Halbach arrived at Averys house at 3:30 on October 31st which is obviously false.

I had thought that they would probably have to bump someone off for that scenario to play out as I was typing. People have been killed for significantly less than $36m though. Not trying to add fuel to any fire, merely positing that they may have known where to leave the car.

I did some more digging and it seems the witness saw it on either the 3rd or 4th November, seemingly reporting the sighting on the 4th. Yes, they could’ve got that date wrong but consider this - the flyover of the Avery property on 4th November didn’t locate Teresa’s car but it was found by Pam Sturm less than half an hour after she started looking on 5th November.

So what is your suspicion? It wasn't there on the 4th?

Interested in where you got this info from.

From the time the first series was being broadcast i remember seeing a map of the Avery property showing where the car was found and other relevant info (like where the crusher was), and from memory the car was located nowhere near to the crusher.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting, yes. The witness claims to have reported the sighting of the Rav 4 to that dodgy fucker Colborn on the 4th. At what time I don't know but the flyover of the Avery property on the 4th wasn't able to pick out the Rav 4, yet miraculously on the morning of the 5th it was found within half an hour of the search starting.
