Then Avery is still innocent and should be released. If they can't prove to a jury that it was anyone else, beyond reasonable doubt, then they need to get more evidence and do more work.
Framing Avery and leaving the real killer out is plain lazy as well as ethically barbaric.

Imagining that I am on the jury without having seen the alternative viewpoints provided by others, guilty.
The way the evidence is presented is morally questionable, no doubt.
If you asked me about Brendan - entirely innocent.
How does that work??
You can't have Dassey innocent and Avery guilty!!
They needed Dassey's statement to convict!!

That’s not true, Dassey didn’t testify at Avery’s trial but that’s beside the point anyway. In all likelihood, Avery had probably killed Halbach by the time Dassey came home from school.

Dassey confessed as to being there AT THE ALLEGED RAPE AND MURDER at the station (never said he was a witness in court)!!
Everything else would have been circumstantial and not enough to arrest Avery with, without placing him 'at the scene' with a first hand account.
That's what they used and why they tried them separately.
So, one of the very first things you have to ask is WHY they were tried separately.
Why, if the younger one was coerced, did they not get him to point the finger at Avery, in court?
Probably cos Dassey, a minor at the time, wouldn't have as it was bullsh*t.
