Sends a message to nip this stuff in the bud for the future. The police obviously know the internet is a place they have to try and well, police as best they can. By making such arrests, they need to make people realise that online worlds aren't seperate from offline. This is to lay down the law for the next few years/decades.

MH17 criminal investigation initial findings being released today. Confirmation that missile was fired from rebel held territory using a Russian missile launcher which was transported back to Russia after the aircraft was shot down. The air crash investigation released last year identified the missile type which implicated the Russians. This investigation confirms that.
The criminal investigation has not directly linked Russia to the downing, Dutch chief-prosecutor Fred Westerbeke said.
“We have determined that the weapons came from the Russian Federation. Having established this, we do not make statements about the participation of the Russian Federation as a nation or people from the Russian Federation,” the official said.
