Someone off our coach saw the incident, apparently both groups had just come off the tram and one of the kids in black - Forest fans it seems - blindsided the man on the floor. The cops did catch him. The guy who was punched did come round eventually, hopefully he was ok after treatment.Did anyone see what happened to the bloke sparked out before the game near entrance x. There was a woman on the floor after the game just before or after the away fans entrance on ashton new road,a load of coppers around her, she was unconscious,hope she's ok.
It was sickening and I only heard it. The punch was loud enough but when his head hit the deck....so loud. Good on the cops who were straight after him and got him.
As the OP said it started as they got off the tram. They were having a verbal go at Blues until they were fronted up by two older, handy lads. The cops got involved and it quietened down. From what I saw the bloke who they hit was not part of that incident. Lowlife isn't the word. I did see him eventually sit up and I hope the dibble charged the coward.

We saw someone under a foil blanket being attended to. Hopefully ok.There was a woman on the floor after the game just before or after the away fans entrance on ashton new road,a load of coppers around her, she was unconscious,hope she's ok.
I can't recall seeing that amount of police / horses on Ashton new road before. Must have been expecting trouble. Normally they just let the away fans out onto the oncoming city fans (always seems like a recipe for disaster).
