You could not make this up .Friends who have a table in the Commonwealth Lounge offered to do a Collection on Friday .They put out the leaflets on the tables & got great response When the volunteer with the bucket came (he also is a season ticket holder in the lounge ) he was quizzed by the Security staff .They then phoned a club Officall .They said he could not collect & took the bucket of him .After the game he got the bucket back & did a collection outside . Apart from sending a card with 15 names on Mcfc (apart from the super store ) have done absolutley nothing .While that is ther perogotive they should hang there head in shame at stopping the collection

It really depends how it's done. If I'm having a meal or a drink I don't want to be interrupted by someone asking me if I want to hand over money.

If it was just the leaflets, and someone sitting in a corner then I don't see a problem.

I would not want to be mithered either while haveing a scran .But they know a lot of people in there & put the leaflets out first & had a chat & got a great response .The lad with the bucket was working & did not get there till about 3 his intention was just to leave the bucket on the floor & if people wanted to sling some money in it was up to them .But he never even got in. with it .It seems such a shame that so many people want to help the lad but the Club seem not to be bothered

They may well have a policy about such things and if that's the case then you should perhaps accept that they have their reasons rather than take such a negative stand. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are being mean spirited.

Do you not need a permit for any charitable collection? Although I don't agree with what happened perhaps this is the reason why they did what they did, ie, officially it was illegal.

Well then if any of the above points are valid why did the club not take a much more Public Spirited Atitude towards it .Someone could have come down & explained .Also if the above points are valid why did they not stop him Collecting Outside the Lounge in the Freezing cold

There is no problem, although I'm not exactly sure why you think the club should feel obliged to help. I believe the card was a nice touch, what more do you realistically expect?

Your argument is emotive, singularly based on what you think is right.

If they have a policy that states that people are not allowed to make collections around tables, then that's that. If they allow it for one, then surely they'd have to allow it for all, and unfortunately that could cause chaos.

It is not often that a City Fan Is Lying Seriously Injuried In A Hospital in a Foriegn Country After Watching City play in Europe .To Be Honest i dont care that City have done nothing to offer support to Carl or his Family .I just wish they would not hinder other fans who want to help
